(2/28/2025) Broad-shouldered, smoldering and black, this offers a densely packed coil of dark fruit encased in iron. Time in glass reveals peppery, energetic details, with smoked herb and graphite elements, but this still needs time to unwind. Black tea tannins and plum skin acidity carry this through the massive, lingering finish. Its opulence is well-matched by its fine structure and savory power. (12/5/2024) Another incredibly classic expression of the terroir, the 2022 Gigondas Hominis Fides has a beautiful nose of crushed stone, graphite, loamy earth, and savory red and black fruits. With medium to full-bodied richness, a powerful, layered, inward style, ripe tannins, and one great finish, it's going to need 3-5 years of bottle age to show its full potential yet should be long-lived. (7/31/2025) Showing spice and herb notes on opening, such as oregano, olive and marjoram, with a touch of dried ham too. Relatively full-bodied, this has depth and texture. There is huge power, a real upswell of berry coulis fruit. The alcohol warms the finish, but there is a lot to enjoy here – the payoff is great length, depth and burgeoning complexity. The oak work is well integrated, and works well with the style. A touch of peppery spice brings further complexity. Whole-bunch fermented, 20% new oak. Drinking Window: 2025 - 2047.

(9/1/2025) Not for the timid, this bold wine commands with black licorice, olive tapenade, and a meaty layer accented by wild thyme and bay leaf. Intriguing and intense, the palate is fresh with bitter tannins that support spicy mulled fruit, black licorice, and a tea leaf-stony finish. There's a depth here that's still unfolding—best cellared through 2035+ to truly experience its power. Perfect with a juicy mushroom burger topped with funky cheeses.
