What Critics Think
Wine Spectator : 96 Points
(2/28/2025) A massive wine, this starts out with a voluptuous, generous well of black cherry, anise and plum puree that soon reveals a simmering layer of molten iron. Serious and brooding, with savory, smoky power and bitterness, yet this shows finesse and beautiful integration. The powerful black tea tannins are built to go the distance and need a bit of time to mellow out. A blockbuster. Best from 2026 through 2040. 30 cases imported.

(12/5/2024) As in 2023, the 2022 Gigondas Le Poste is the standout in the lineup, and it’s clearly one of the wines of the vintage. Coming from older vines just up the hill from the château and partially destemmed Grenache, it has a brilliant core of red and black fruits, graphite, Provençal spices, and ground pepper. Layered, full-bodied, concentrated, and incredibly well-balanced, with ripe tannins, it deserves 4-5 years of bottle age if you can and will blow you away over the following two decades. Maturity 2028 - 2049.
Decanter : 96 Points
(7/31/2025) Smoky blackcurrant and sloe fruit aromas lead to a very concentrated and powerful but yielding palate, that’s not too hard. This has real depth and textural wealth. The alcohol is warming, the acidity is well balanced, and the tannins are noble and refined. There’s some bay leaf and black pepper in the background. A wine of great power, and serious potential complexity. The 20% new oak is well integrated. Drinking Window: 2030 - 2045.

(9/1/2025) Serious and layered, this wine opens with fresh black fruits mingling with wild thyme, sage, lavender, and violet—dense and rich at the moment. The palate mirrors this intensity, with hints of white pepper, clove, and dark chocolate enveloping the core of black fruit. It has yet to show off all of its layers. Cellar through 2035+ to allow this wine to fully harmonize and unfold.
