What Critics Think

(8/7/2025) The 2023 Zinfandel Belloni Vineyard comes from a site that owner and winemaker Morgan Twain-Peterson says was one of the flagship vineyard designates made by his father, Joel Peterson, at Ravenswood beginning in the early 1990s. Interplanted with other varieties such as Mourvèdre, Alicante Bouschet and Valdigué, the nose is bursting with red berries, orange peel, hibiscus, forest floor and allspice. The full-bodied palate is concentrated and plush with rose- and spice-laced flavors. It’s balanced by mouthwatering acidity and has a very long, layered finish. It becomes more expressive with air and will benefit from time in the cellar. Drink Date: 2025 - 2045.
Vinous - Antonio Galloni : 94+ Points
(1/2025) The 2023 Zinfandel Belloni Vineyard is a silky, mid-weight wine. Dark blue/purplish fruit, lavender and spice are some of the layers that unfold in this glass. Delicate and medium in body, the 2023 boasts understated intensity that is waiting to emerge. This is a pretty tightly coiled wine for the Russian River Valley. Drinking Window: 2027 - 2038.

(8/31/2025) Recalls the old-school Zins but layers its richness and polish with appealing briar patch accents. Offers notes of cherry, blueberry, tarragon and white pepper while persisting toward fine-grained tannins. Drink now through 2035. 250 cases made.
