Vin Chicago: 90 Points

(10/2024) Caparone was the first winery in the US to commercially produce Sangiovese. This incredible red comes from vines planted in 1982 from cuttings provided by Tuscany's "Il Poggione" estate in Montalcino! This is a lithe Sangiovese with softer tannins than its Italian cousins partly due to extended barrel aging. It still containins all the bright Sangiovese fruit and spice notes that we love!
