(3/10/2024) Taking a back seat here, the Perrins have worked in collaboration with Nicolas Jaboulet and his company Maison & Domaines Les Alexandrins and the French actor Patrick Bruel on his estate, Leos, in the southern Luberon. Initially restrained aromas, the wine opens up to reveal very floral notes with hints of violets. On the palate there are notes of wild red berries, blackberries and raspberry jam richness. The concentrated berries are typical of the 2023 vintage, and give a phenolic edge. This has good intensity, and is silky smooth with crunchy acidity and a pretty charm. Still closed and youthful, needs time to open out. Drinking Window: 2024 - 2028.
