What We Think
(8/1/2025) A spice and fruit-forward Central Coast Pinot Noir here crafted by Santa Barbara wine veteran, Lane Tanner. Fom the sub-AVA of Santa Maria Valley, fruit grown at Rancho Real and Julia's vineyards makes for a fleshy Pinot that drinks beyond its level. Only 5% of the Hungarian and French oak barrels used for aging were new. Ripe fresh raspberries and strawberry-rhubarb preserves are enlivened by cranberry and given depth by a panoply of spice, including cardamom, mace and nutmeg. There's a savory underpinning of fresh herb to the audacious fruit. There's a lot to love here!
