(7/21/2023) Taking on a more vibrant ruby appearance, the 2021 Pinot Noir Special Reserve is also more direct and high-toned in nature, with aromas of grenadine, fresh pine, and menthol. Moving to the palate, it’s linear and focused, with fine tannins and a core of fresh acidity. A medium-bodied red that’s energetic with notes of orange peel, cranberry, and clove, it retains the stylistic clean touch that’s typical of wines from Reeve and has the bones to improve over the next decade.

(6/2023) The 2021 Pinot Noir Special Reserve is terrific. A wine of presence and stature, the 2021 impresses with its magnificent balance. Dark red/purplish fruit, rose petal, lavender, spice, menthol and new saddle leather are some of the many aromas and flavors that develop in a Pinot that marries fruit intensity with vibrancy. In many ways, the Reserve encapsulates so much of what makes 2021 a special vintage in Sonoma. Drinking Window: 2024 - 2033.
