(8/2023) We are huge fans of Burgundy's 2020 vintage and love the deep color and concentrated power this young Volnay shows. On the nose, especially after airing in a decanter, this luscious wine gives flavors of black cherry, wild strawberry, rose petal, crimini, boxwood and roasted sage. In the mouth, the wine is dense and savory with clay and limestone minerality giving energy to the fleshy cherry and black raspberry fruits. Medium-full in body, this delicious Pinot Noir continues to open and develop. On day three our sample bottle tasted like an $85 Premier Cru! Drink this wine over the coming 15 years.
