(4/30/2024) A rich, fleshy red marked by cherry, plum, menthol and wild herb flavors. Balanced and almost feels approachable now, yet will benefit from a few more years of bottle aging. Packs a long aftertaste that echoes the fruit and herb accents. Best from 2027 through 2043. 1,000 cases made, 200 cases imported.

(4/2023) The 2020 Santo Stefano from Castello di Neive is drop-dead gorgeous, one of the best Barbarescos from the vintage. It opens with classic aromas of ripe berry, violet new leather and a whiff of forest floor while the delicious palate doles out fleshy black cherry, raspberry compote and baking spice before a mint and mineral finish. Drink 2026–2040. Absolutely stunning and delicious.
