What We Think
Vin Chicago: 95 Points
(11/2021) The top bottling from Domaine Lejeune comes from a 0.6 hectare parcel in “Les Rugiens” vineyard, one of three sites in Pommard that have been nominated for Grand Cru status. In the glass, this incredible, intense young wine shows a primarily translucent medium ruby color. On the nose and in the mouth, this proud Pinot—which Aubert typically makes no more than 1000 bottles of—is elegant, with lifted minerality and floral notes. Packed with baking spice, deep tangy red fruit, dried leaf and mushroom, this rich wine needs time to open. Ideally aged for another 3 to 5 years, you'll want to give this world-class Burgundy quite a bit of time in a decanter if you decide to open now. Enjoy this triumph of power, complexity and mineral precision over the next 10 to 20 years!
