What Critics Think
Jeb Dunnuck : 96 Points
(7/21/2023) The 2021 Pinot Noir Savoy pours a ripe ruby and delivers notes of bright cherry, peppery spice, and roses. Medium-bodied, it has fine-grained tannins and a fresh spine of acidity, with notes of more pure red fruit, crunchy earth, and cinnamon. It is the only wine in this lineup that’s not made from estate fruit. Drink: 2025-2045.
The Wine Independent : 95 Points
(7/25/2023) The 2021 Peay Savoy Vineyard Pinot Noir is a non-estate wine. It is pale ruby-purple in color and needs a little swirling to bring out notes of black cherries, black raspberries, and lilacs, leading to wafts of mossy tree bark, fertile loam, and menthol. The medium-bodied palate shimmers with electric black fruit and wonderful tension, framed by velvety tannins, finishing long and layered. Drinking: 2024 - 2034.
Wine Advocate : 95 Points
(6/15/2023) The 2021 Pinot Noir Savoy Vineyard has deep aromas of raspberry and redcurrant, aniseed, mushroom, earth and lavender. The medium-bodied palate echoes the generosity and layering of the nose, offering concentrated flavor layers and loads of earthy accents. It has a chalky frame, seamless acidity and a very long, layered finish. It's drinking beautifully straight from the bottle. Drink Date: 2023 - 2033.
