90+ Cellars "Lot 26" Barolo 2014

92 Our Score
(11/2018) The "Lot 26" Barolo is from a small, family-owned winery in Piedmont. The care and pedigree are delightfully apparent the moment the cork is popped. With a bit of air, this wine shows an abundance of character with classic flavors of cherry, rose hips, tar, leather and wisp of baking spices on the finish. The 2014 "Lot 26" over-delivers for the modest price and will drink well over the next seven years.

Domaine Eden Santa Cruz Mountains Chardonnay 2015

92 Wine Enthusiast
92 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(8/2018) "The 2015 Chardonnay is a gorgeous, pedigreed wine that captures all the brilliance and pedigree of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Weightless and gracious in the glass, with lovely aromatic lift and tons of energy, the Domaine Eden Chardonnay is pure class. Citrus, floral, almond and mineral nuances add further shades of nuance. Even more importantly, the 2015 is wonderfully fresh and vibrant, which will allow it to age gracefully for years to come. The Domaine Eden Chardonnay is 65% declassified Mount Eden Chardonnay and 35% fruit from the Domaine Eden property itself. Drink 2018 - 2025."

Dierberg "Dierberg Vineyard" Santa Maria Valley Pinot Noir 2013

91 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
92 Wine Advocate
(8/27/2015) "The winery's estate release Pinot Noir, and a terrific wine, the 2013 Pinot Noir Estate comes from the Dierberg Vineyard and saw 20% stems and aging in 25% new French oak. It's classic Pinot all the way and has an incredibly silky, seamless texture, textbook and perfumed aromatics (rose petal, sweet black cherries), and a balanced, harmonious feel that keeps you coming back to the glass. I'm a fan. While great now, it will continue drinking nicely for another 5-6 years."

Chateau Thivin Cote de Brouilly 2017

94 Wine Advocate
(9/22/2018) "The 2017 Cote de Brouilly is superb, unfurling in the glass with aromas of ripe cassis, candied violets and plums. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, rich and concentrated, structured around fine-grained but chewy tannins and tangy balancing acids, with considerable depth and substance at the core. The wine is still quite primary and will need some time to come together, but it's an excellent rendition of this storied cuvee that resembles the 2011 vintage. Drink 2020 - 2035."

Daou Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

90 Jeb Dunnuck
91 Vinous, Josh Raynolds
(9/2018) "(60% new French oak) Deep bright-rimmed ruby. Intense cherry and red berry scents, along with hints of cracked pepper, pipe tobacco and vanilla. Juicy and focused on the palate, offering concentrated red currant, bitter cherry and spicecake flavors that deepen slowly and turn sweeter on the back half. Fine-grained tannins build on a long, spice-laced finish that leaves behind a suggestion of cherry compote. In the context of top-notch California Cabernets, this wine delivers remarkable value. Drink 2022 - 2030."

Daou "Pessimist" Paso Robles Red 2017

90 Jeb Dunnuck
(11/29/2018) "Moving to the 2017s, the already bottled 2017 Pessimist is a lot of wine for not much buck. This full-bodied, fleshy, sexy wine gives up lots of black fruits, chocolate, spice, and subtle vanilla notes and certainly put a smile on my face. It's a pleasure bent, undeniably hedonistic wine to drink over the coming couple of years."

96 James Suckling
(12/22/2016) "A brambly and perfumed wine that has plenty of sappy red cherries and spices. It's full of fragrances and sweet-berry perfumes, not to mention a little touch of rose petals. Crisp tannins come into play from the get-go on the palate, heralding flavors of raspberries and red cherries. A beautifully defined, long and balanced style. Majestic structure and a deep and focused finish. Best from 2018 and up to 2025."
