Rich and sumptuous to the core, it is a classic wine from this property, built on serious fruit density and textural richness. Dark red cherry, plum, chocolate, new leather and spice are some of the many notes that build as the 2015 shows off its irrepressible personality. A viscerally exciting, resonant wine, it just needs a few years to shed some of its baby fat. Tasted two times. Drinking window: 2025 - 2040."

(8/16/2019) "The 2017 Chateauneuf Du Pape Cuvee Vieilles Vignes is another killer effort from this estate. Coming from the La Janasse and La Crau lieux-dits and brought up in foudre, its deep purple color is followed by blockbuster notes of creme de cassis, blackberries, chocolate, graphite, and earthy, rocky, mineral-like nuances. It's deep and full-bodied, with a ripe, powerful yet balanced style and a great finish. A classic example of this cuvee. it's going to benefit from short-term cellaring and keep for two decades or more. Maturity: 2023 - 2043"

(11/2020) Incredibly dense and rich on the palate with spine-tingling acidity, the 2019 vintage of this long-time Vin Chicago favorite is the best we've tasted in several years. The glass greets you with fleshy tangerine, tense nectarine, grapefruit pith and tropical guava. The lively and energetic mouthfeel is highlighted by chalky grip and silver stone minerality which flows through the long finish. A complex and perfectly complete premium Sancerre to enjoy anytime.

Pineapple, white flowers, sugared peach, and honeyed notes all emerge from this full-bodied, layered, balanced Barsac that's already impossible to resist yet will evolve gracefully 2+ decades.
