Domaine de la Pepiere "Granite de Clisson" Muscadet Sevre et Maine 2015

91-92 Vinous, David Schildknecht
95 John Gilman
(10/2018) "The 2015 Clisson bottling from Domaine de la Pepiere is a stunning young bottle of Muscadet. The complex nose delivers a stellar constellation of bread fruit, a touch of pear, dried flowers, a beautifully complex base of wet stone minerality, discreet leesy tones and very understated topnotes of both menthol and ocean breeze. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied, focused and very mineral in personality, with a rock solid core of fruit, snappy acids and outstanding length and grip on the complex and energetic finish. This is a brilliant wine. Drink between 2018-2045."

La Morandiere Muscadet Sevre-et-Maine 2017

90+ Our Score
(8/2018) La Morandiere is a tiny family estate located in the Muscadet-Sèvre et Maine appellation. This entry level bottling offers far more texture and density than many other wines at this price, not to mention the fact that it is a mere baby! It is medium bodied with a great leesy, salty texture. The palate is vibrant with notes of under-ripe yellow pear, green apples and citrus pith. The versatility here is huge, and this could even stand up to richer dishes one wouldn't normally pair Muscadet with.

Bow & Arrow "Johan Vineyard" Willamette Valley Melon de Bourgogne 2017

90 Our Score
(3/2019) A new world focus on Loire varietals pays off here with a Melon de Bourgogne, from the biodynamically farmed Johan Vineyard, that is outgoing and expressive with notes of ripe lemon, peach, tropical fruit and waxy limestone. Its bright acidity, minerality and leesy texture are enough to rival some of Muscadet's essential producers. A stunner to drink now, on its own or rounding out a perfect seafood lunch.

88 Wine Spectator
(12/31/2014) "This late-release version has gained extra notes of wet straw, dried lemon peel and blanched almond to go along with some still-youthful salted butter and honeysuckle hints. A light waxy edge shows on the finish. Drink now. 75 cases imported."

Domaine de la Pepiere "Clos des Briords - Cuvee Vieilles Vignes" Sur Lie Muscadet Sevre-et-Maine 2016

90+ Our Score
(3/2018) "Clos des Briords" is always one of our favorite Muscadets, offering more concentration and layered flavors of fruit and earth than similarly priced bottlings. The 2016 is no exception, giving a richly textured, low alcohol wine that provides the lucky drinker hints of Fuji apple, lemon peel, salted chalk and a crisp, mineral finish. Classic.

Comte Leloup du Chateau de Chasseloir "Cuvee des Ceps Centenaires" Muscadet Sevre-et-Maine sur Lie 2014

From the oldest parcel of vines in Muscadet, this remarkable 2014 is the current release from Chateau de Chasseloir!
92 Our Score
94 Wine & Spirits
(4/2019) "Part of the region's Cru Communaux, the Comte Leloup is 7.4 acres of vines that are more than 100 years old. Bernard Chéreau ferments the wine in stainless steel and ages it on the lees for ten months, followed by at least two years in bottle. The vines, growing in schist and slate, deliver fruit with smoky depths, the wine lasting on ripe peach, honeydew and bitter melon, all of its richness wrapped in juicy tart-apple freshness. It's broad and intense, floral and savory, a wine to decant for a roasted whole fish stuffed with fennel."
