A.D. Beckham "Amphora Blanc" Willamette Valley Riesling-Viognier 2016

91 Our Score
(3/2018) Andrew Beckham is a pottery artist and teacher and has been crafting his own amphora for use in their family's small winery in Oregon's Chehalem Mountains. The amphora wines, labeled under the A.D. Beckham label have been expanding over the past three years. This new release is a white blend of 97% Riesling (25% from the Beckham estate and 72% from the biodynamically farmed Montinore estate vineyard), plus 3% Viognier. The wine was fermented and then aged for a total of 10 weeks in terra cotta, and then finished in stainless steel. Bone dry, crisp, and very refreshing, this clean white blends citrus, orchard and stone fruit flavors with a touch of floral aromatics. Drink with sushi, Thai food, baked ham, roast chicken or sausages. Delicious!

Martha Stoumen Wines "Post Flirtation" California White Blend 2017

90+ Our Score
(2/2019) The "Post Flirtation" white is a delicious and totally refreshing white from natural winemaker Martha Stoumen. Clean, fresh and oh-so-drinkable, she blends 70% Marsanne and 12% Roussanne with a healthy dose of Muscat to kick the aromatics into high hear. A soft and round texture is well balanced by fresh and lively acidity that carries the springtime aromatics of the Muscat all the way to the end of the long, lingering finish. This versatile white can be paired with nearly anything, or drink it on its own!

Clos Sainte Magdeleine Cassis Blanc 2015

91+ Our Score
(6/2018) This dry white comes from one of the most beautiful wine growing regions in France. With vineyards literally touching the Mediterranean Sea, the region of Cassis produces richly concentrated whites that are quite fresh, with citrus and orchard fruits and salty minerality. This ageworthy example, imported by Kermit Lynch, blends 40% Marsanne with 30% Ugni Blanc, 25% Clairette and 5% Bourboulenc. Delicious.

Frantz Saumon "Le Petit Gaule du Matin'" Montlouis-sur Loire Petillant Naturel 2017

90+ Our Score
(8/2018) The Loire is undoubtedly ground zero for the Petillant Naturel movement, among the finest of those come from Capriades and Frantz Saumon. Always pristine and precise, these bubbles deliver loads and loads of pleasure. "La Petite Gaule du Matin" is a zesty and expressive blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc. Squeaky clean, this is like fresh fruit from the orchard slammed into a bottle, with a frothy bubble set that leaves you craving more. A seriously tasty Pet Nat!

Winemaker's Notes
"ORBITOFRONTAL CORTEX 2016 a white blend driven by a combination of Swartland Clairette blanche and Verdelho with bits of Palomino, Chenin blanc and Grenache blanc - the best white blend from my cellar according to my conscious mind, named after the scientific name for the part of your brain where conscious decisions are made - Inspired by LIMBIC 2015 (a wine from my subconscious)."

Prisoner Wine Company "Blindfold" California White 2016

89 Wine Enthusiast
89 Wine Spectator
(2018) "Opens with a smoky, buttery brioche note, which lingers in the background as a spicy accent to the vanilla pudding and lemon curd flavors and opulent core of apricot preserves. Not a shy wine, but has a supple texture and plenty of expression on the long finish. Chardonnay, Roussanne, Viognier, Grenache Blanc, Marsanne and Chenin Blanc. Drink now."

BLANKbottle "Manon des Sources" Elgin White Blend 2010

91+ Our Score
(4/2019) This totally unique white comes from a small vineyard owned by an acquaintance of Pieter Walser, the mad genius behind BLANKbottle. As part of the sourcing contract, Peter produces a few barrels of wine each year for the vineyard owner's personal consumption. Turns out that two barrels per year is too much for the owner to consume and the vintages began to back up. Pieter bought some back, and we are thrilled to have been able to get our hands on a few cases of this beautifully aged 2010 vintage! A blend of primarily Riesling with smatterings of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc, it was whole bunch pressed and then aged for a year in neutral French oak. How has this nine year old wine aged? AMAZINGLY! Opening with a laserlike brightness, it is fresh and elemental with incredible length that plays out on the palate with a toasty, pastry-like element. The alcohol level is a powerful 15.5%, though you'd never guess it was that high. With aeration, riper tropical fruit and exotic, waxy macademia nut richness emerges. This will be an exciting, singular experience for our favorite wine geeks. Not to be missed!

Fabien Jouves Les Agudes 2018

91 Our Score
(3/2019) From Cahors' natural winemaking star Fabien Jouves, this lovely blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Gris, Chardonnay and Semillon is superlatively expressive and refreshing. Aromas and flavors of Meyer lemon, pineapple, white flowers, acacia honey, and wild lavender are supported by summery acidity in this native yeast fermented, unfiltered beauty. For a producer best known for Malbec, this sunny white blend is a star.
