Chateau La Mission Haut Brion 2005

100 Wine Advocate
(6/2015) "The 2005 La Mission Haut-Brion is pure perfection. It has an absolutely extraordinary nose of sweet blackberries, cassis and spring flowers with some underlying minerality, a full-bodied mouthfeel, gorgeously velvety tannins (which is unusual in this vintage) and a long, textured, multi-layered finish that must last 50+ seconds. This is a fabulous wine and a great effort from this hallowed terroir. Drink this modern-day legend over the next 30+ years. Only 5,500 cases were produced of this blend of 69% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Cabernet Franc. Drink: 2015 - 2045."

Domaine de la Vougeraie Clos de Vougeot 2015

98 Wine Spectator
(1/17/2018) "Red Complex aromas and flavors of red berry, sandalwood, vanilla, floral and mineral are alluring, made all the more appealing by the elegant frame and vivid structure. Silky and harmonious enough to drink now, but this should really sing in five to seven years. Offers a fine, smoky finish. Best from 2023 through 2040. 38 cases imported."

(12/27/2018) "Impressive, complex array of wild cherries, raspberries, garrigue herbs, lightly spiced pastry and stony, chalky minerals. Super-fresh florals. The palate has superb texture, roundness, completeness, depth and detail. Powerful yet elegant with powdery tannins and essence-like red fruit. Super-fleshy, supple and dense core, then strong at the edges. Layer upon layer peels away on the finish. Resounding finesse and equilibrium, showing the full potential of the plateau La Crau. Drink or hold."

Cedric Bouchard "Les Ursules" Blanc de Noirs Champagne 2014

96 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(11/2018) "The 2014 Blanc de Noirs Ursules will leave readers searching for superlatives. It is every bit that good. Cut, precision and focus are the signatures. Creamy and resonant on the palate, the Ursules offers a dazzling expression of Pinot Noir. Next to the Presle, the Ursules carries a bit more weight and overall structure. in this tasting, it is a total knock-out. Non-dose. Disgorged: April 2018."

Paul Jaboulet Aine "La Chapelle" Hermitage 2015

98 Vinous, Josh Raynolds
100 Jeb Dunnuck
(1/24/2018) "Lastly, and a legendary wine in the making, the 2015 Hermitage La Chapelle is reminiscent of the 1990 with its full-bodied, opulently, sexy, yet concentrated style. Offering sensational notes of blackcurrants, smoked herbs, beef blood, and chocolate, it's a huge yet elegant wine that has masses of sweet tannin, incredible purity and finesse, and a killer finish. It's the finest wine from this estate in close to 30 years. Hats off to Caroline Frey and Jacques Desvernois! Maturity: 2026 - 2066."

Chateau Figeac St. Emilion 2015

100 Jeb Dunnuck
(11/30/2017) "A hold onto your hat wine, the 2015 Chateau Figeac is pure perfection and one of the wines of this terrific vintage. A blend of 43% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot and 28% Cabernet Franc, its deep purple color is followed by a huge nose of creme de cassis, black raspberries, smoked earth, and graphite. This is followed by a full-bodied, opulent and incredibly concentrated Saint-Emilion that has everything in the right places, no hard edges, thrilling purity of fruit, and a great, great finish. This is one of those rare gems that carries huge intensity and richness, yet still glides across the palate with no sense of weight or heaviness. Winemaker Frederic Faye thinks the 2016 is even better but that certainly isn't stopping me from giving this crazy good wine a triple digit score. Everyone owes it to themselves to try and taste this wine at least once!"

Bollinger "R.D." Extra Brut Champagne 2004

97 James Suckling
97 Wine Advocate
(6/29/2018) "Fermented in oak barrels and aged under natural corks for almost 13 years, Bollinger's 2004 R. D. Extra Brut blends 66% Pinot Noir with 34% Chardonnay from 16 crus, 88% of which are classified as Grand Cru. The wine opens with a very clear, deep, rich and aromatic but also pure and mineral-fresh nose of crushed rocks, cherries, brioche, pain aux raisin, white nougat, chalk and ripe, yellow-fleshed fruits. Highly elegant and complex on the weightless yet persistent and salty palate, this is an intense, densely woven, firmly structured yet elegant, beautifully refined and refreshing 'recent disgorgement' (February 2018) that reveals just a kiss of oxidative flavors that adds even more complexity. A great Champagne on its way to improve over many years in the bottle. Tasted June 2018. Drink Date 2018 - 2034."

Marc Hebrart "Special Club" Brut Champagne 2013

Winemaker's Notes
The most revered Champagne expert in America, importer Terry Theise, has declared this Champagne nearly perfect! Here's what he had to say about this truly special wine, "There have been great ones over the years - 2002, 2008, 2012 - but none as otherworldly as this, the most exquisite young Champagne I have ever tasted. Deg. 8/29/17, it is quite different from the '12, but just as sublime. 2012 croons, and this one whispers. '12 leaps like a gazelle; '13 flaps its gossamer white wings. '12 is clearly and tangibly great; '13 is ethereally and hauntingly great. '13 is a little like 2008, but with less prominent acidity; still, it's in the family of high cirrus-y skies with mares' tails and ice-rainbows. I wish I had four plusses to give it. Each pure beautiful element of Champagne is carefully arranged to be examined and identified, until they all melt together into Pleiades of nuance and structure. It's an ivory-pale bride, shining with bliss and love, even through her gauzy veil. This weightless masterpiece is 30% PN from Mareuil (Faubourg d'Enfer, Croix Blanche, Pruche and Cotes), 25% Ay (Cheuzelles, Pierre Robert, and Le Leon) 35% CH old-vines Mareuil (Beauregard, Ramonette and Buisson Saint Loup) and 10% CH Oiry and Chouilly (Justice and Montaigu). It is also a Coeur de Cuvee."

Domaine Pierre Usseglio & Fils "Cuvee de Mon Aieul" Chateauneuf du Pape 2016

97 Wine Advocate
100 Jeb Dunnuck
(8/28/2018) "Getting more than one exclamation in the notes, the 2016 Chateauneuf-du-Pape Cuvee de Mon Aieul is a deep, rich yet vibrant red that offers a kaleidoscope of kirsch liqueur, garrigue, crushed flowers, Asian spices, and cured meats. It's more opulent and sexier than the 2010, fresher and purer than the 2007, has deep, full-bodied aromas and flavors, and a huge finish. It's a sensational, heavenly Chateauneuf-du-Pape that tops out my scale. This cuvee is 100% Grenache that was not destemmed and was aged in 20% demi-muids and the balance in concrete tanks. Drinking window 2021 -2041."

Chateau Pichon Lalande Pauillac 2009

96 James Suckling
95 Wine Advocate
(2/2012) "A beautiful effort, the 2009 Pichon Lalande, a blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot, possesses copious mocha, lead pencil, unsmoked, high class tobacco, black currant, forest floor and herbaceous characteristics. It is a deep purple-hued, charming, surprisingly open-knit Pauillac with wonderful freshness, a plump, fleshy mouthfeel, opulence and unctuosity, medium to full body and a well-delineated, luscious style. More elegant than its nearby neighbor, Pichon Longueville Baron, and not as massive in concentration and extract, it is one of the great Pichon Lalandes of the last twenty years."
