Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

96 Wine Advocate
96 James Suckling
96 Wine Enthusiast
99 Jeb Dunnuck
(4/5/2018) "The flagship is the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon mostly from Champoux with the balance from Palengat and Wallula vineyards. Crème de cassis, graphite, black licorice, unsmoked tobacco, and hints of chocolate and emerge from this beauty and it continues to gain depth and nuance with time in the glass. Full-bodied, deep, and layered with an incredible purity and elegance on the palate, it's already accessible but has more than enough tannin, depth, and balance to evolve for two decades or more. Maturity: 2018 - 2043."

Cayuse "God Only Knows" Walla Walla Valley Grenache 2014

97 Wine Advocate
(6/2017) "There are 533 cases of the 2014 Grenache God Only Knows Armada Vineyard, and as always, it's an unknown blend that's dominated by Grenache (reportedly from vine cuttings from Rayas). It's fermented with just about 100% whole clusters in concrete and aged mostly in neutral puncheons and foudre, with one concrete egg. A bigger, richer wine than the No Girls cuvee, this beauty packs a punch in its black cherry, reduced strawberry, herbes de Provence and crushed violet aromas and flavors. With full-bodied richness, a supple, elegant style and fine tannin, this singular beauty will benefit from a year or three of cellaring and keep for 10-15 years."

Cayuse "God Only Knows" Walla Walla Valley Grenache 2015

97 Wine Advocate
(6/29/2018) "The 2015 Grenache God Only Knows Armada Vineyard is superb, wafting from the glass with a bouquet of kaleidoscopic complexity that features aromas of rose hips and peony, ripe cherries and orange rind, mingled with savory bass notes of garrigue, licorice and bay leaf. On the palate, it's full-bodied, layered and expansive, with a deep core of fruit framed by very fine-grained, velvety tannins, concluding with a sapid, even saline finish. Its concentration without weight, as well as its striking aromatic amplitude, mark it out as one of the finest expressions of Grenache to be found in the United States. The 2015 was cropped at 1.2 tons per acre and saw a saignee of 8% to 15%, and it was fermented with 70% to 80% whole cluster, attaining 14.2% alcohol."

Cayuse "God Only Knows" Armada Vineyard Walla Walla Valley Grenache 2013

94 Wine Advocate
(6/2016) "Grenache seemed to handle the heat nicely in 2013 and the 2013 Grenache God Only Knows Armada Vineyard offers a gorgeous, rich, almost masculine style (especially when it's tasted next to the No Girls Grenache) in its dark fruits, crushed herbs, mineral and leather scented profile. Even showing a touch of game with time in the glass, this beauty has fine tannin, plenty of fruit and a great finish, all suggesting it will drink nicely for another decade."

Cayuse "Cailloux Vineyard" Walla Walla Valley Syrah 2016

98 Jeb Dunnuck
(4/11/2019) "The 2016 Syrah Cailloux Vineyard checks in as 96% Syrah and 4% Viognier that was fermented with roughly 70-80% stems and brought up in 15% new demi-muids and foudre. This beauty has incredible elegance and purity as well as full-bodied richness, complex notes of blackberry, cherries, stone hearth, decayed flowers, and salted meats, and a savory style that's going to benefit from 3-4 years of bottle age and keep for 15 years or more."

Cayuse "En Cerise" Walla Walla Valley Syrah 2016

99 Jeb Dunnuck
(4/11/2019) "The 2016 Syrah En Cerise Vineyard is another winner (best to date?), showing an incredibly bloody, iron quality as well as beautiful purity in its bright cherry, blackberries, violets, pork fat, and acacia flower aromas and flavors. Seamless, silky, gorgeous, and perfectly balanced, it's another heavenly wine from Baron that's going to benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age and cruise for 10-15."

Corliss Estates Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

A superstar from the winemaking team of Andrew Trio and Philippe Melka. It's not often when Stephen Tanzer gives this kind of a review to a Cabernet!
96+ Vinous, Stephen Tanzer
(7/2016) "(Aged in 70% new oak for 28 months; this bottling will be labeled Red Mountain beginning with the 2014 vintage): Bright red-ruby. Extremely primary, pure aromas and flavors of inky cassis, blueberry, licorice and minerals. Tight and high-pitched in the mouth, displaying outstanding depth, energy and minerality but extremely closed in the early going. This huge wine finishes with chewy, late-arriving, toothdusting tannins that will require cellaring, even after the wine is released in the fall of 2018. Corliss has increased its use of tight-grained Saint-Martin barrels in this wine, and it will need a while to absorb the oak. Distinctly cool, even a bit medicinal, for the 2013 vintage, this is likely to be very long-lived. Winemaker Andre Trio told me he added a bit of Petit Verdot 'for back-palate texture and finer-grained tannins.' Drinking window: 2022 - 2034."

K Vintners "King Coal" Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

94 Wine Enthusiast
95 Wine Advocate
(6/30/2017) "The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon King Coal Stoneridge Vineyard is another 80/20 split of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah from the Stoneridge Vineyard. It offers notes of black cherries, red currants, dried flowers and dried soil/sandy notes, full-bodied richness and a seamless, silky, lightly textured and elegant style. It's impeccably balanced and while already straight up delicious, is going to age gracefully. Drink Date: 2017 - 2029."

Betz "Pere de Famille" Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

97 Wine Advocate
(6/30/2017) "A cellar selection from different sites in the Columbia Valley, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Pere de Famille is deeper in color than the Clos de Betz and offers fabulous notes of crème de cassis, graphite, crushed flowers and violets. Just screaming Cabernet, it offers full-bodied richness, incredible purity of fruit, and ultra-fine tannin, all of which make for a sensational Washington State Cabernet Sauvignon that's going to evolve for upwards of two decades."

K Vintners "Klein Vineyard" Walla Walla Valley Syrah 2015

98 Jeb Dunnuck
(4/5/2018) "Almost always one of my favorite releases at this address, the 2015 Syrah Klein Vineyard is up with the crème de la crème in the vintage. Plums, candied cherries, violets, lavender, chocolate, and tons of dusty, earthy minerality all emerge from this exotic, singular, full-bodied, effort that has building tannin and a vibrant, rich, textured style. With incredible purity, notable structure, and a lifted, perfumed style, it's flat-out gorgeous. Maturity: 2020 - 2032."
