(11/2020) From the sparsely populated municipality of Subirats in the Penedes region of northeast Spain, this tasty Cava is composed primarily of traditional varieties: 51% Parellada, 27% Macabeu and 17% Xarel-lo along with 5% of the more familiar Chardonnay. Nicely dry and clean with notes of apple blossom, yellow pear, lemon pith, white stone and hazelnut, it offers a lot of fresh bubbly goodness for the dollar.

"Sparkling rose wine obtained from natural refermentation with Charmat method of blend of selected Veneto's and Emilia Romagna's white and red wines; light pink colour with cyclamen tints, fine and persistent perlage. The fragrance is fruity with strawberry scent. The taste is fresh, delicate and harmonious. Serving suggestion: Perfect like aperitif but it is also good with fish courses, sliced salami, cheese and light desserts."

Made using the Champagne method, the Moncontour Rose consists of 90% Cabernet Franc and 10% Chenin Blanc, aged on its lees for 12 months. With notes of yeasty biscuit, white cherry, strawberry and chalk, it is very easy to like this wine. At our very special price, it will be THE buy-by-the-case sparkler bargain of the season.
