Cedric Bouchard "Les Ursules" Blanc de Noirs Champagne 2014

96 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(11/2018) "The 2014 Blanc de Noirs Ursules will leave readers searching for superlatives. It is every bit that good. Cut, precision and focus are the signatures. Creamy and resonant on the palate, the Ursules offers a dazzling expression of Pinot Noir. Next to the Presle, the Ursules carries a bit more weight and overall structure. in this tasting, it is a total knock-out. Non-dose. Disgorged: April 2018."

Bollinger "R.D." Extra Brut Champagne 2004

97 James Suckling
97 Wine Advocate
(6/29/2018) "Fermented in oak barrels and aged under natural corks for almost 13 years, Bollinger's 2004 R. D. Extra Brut blends 66% Pinot Noir with 34% Chardonnay from 16 crus, 88% of which are classified as Grand Cru. The wine opens with a very clear, deep, rich and aromatic but also pure and mineral-fresh nose of crushed rocks, cherries, brioche, pain aux raisin, white nougat, chalk and ripe, yellow-fleshed fruits. Highly elegant and complex on the weightless yet persistent and salty palate, this is an intense, densely woven, firmly structured yet elegant, beautifully refined and refreshing 'recent disgorgement' (February 2018) that reveals just a kiss of oxidative flavors that adds even more complexity. A great Champagne on its way to improve over many years in the bottle. Tasted June 2018. Drink Date 2018 - 2034."

Marc Hebrart "Special Club" Brut Champagne 2013

Winemaker's Notes
The most revered Champagne expert in America, importer Terry Theise, has declared this Champagne nearly perfect! Here's what he had to say about this truly special wine, "There have been great ones over the years - 2002, 2008, 2012 - but none as otherworldly as this, the most exquisite young Champagne I have ever tasted. Deg. 8/29/17, it is quite different from the '12, but just as sublime. 2012 croons, and this one whispers. '12 leaps like a gazelle; '13 flaps its gossamer white wings. '12 is clearly and tangibly great; '13 is ethereally and hauntingly great. '13 is a little like 2008, but with less prominent acidity; still, it's in the family of high cirrus-y skies with mares' tails and ice-rainbows. I wish I had four plusses to give it. Each pure beautiful element of Champagne is carefully arranged to be examined and identified, until they all melt together into Pleiades of nuance and structure. It's an ivory-pale bride, shining with bliss and love, even through her gauzy veil. This weightless masterpiece is 30% PN from Mareuil (Faubourg d'Enfer, Croix Blanche, Pruche and Cotes), 25% Ay (Cheuzelles, Pierre Robert, and Le Leon) 35% CH old-vines Mareuil (Beauregard, Ramonette and Buisson Saint Loup) and 10% CH Oiry and Chouilly (Justice and Montaigu). It is also a Coeur de Cuvee."

Vilmart et Cie "Coeur de Cuvee" Brut 2010

Legendary importer Terry Theise awards this wine +++/+++ "No surprise: This is gorgeous. Will there be a better 2010? And will Laurent always make the best wine in normal or 'difficult' vintages? Not his best wines, mind you-the best in all Champagne? This is another in a noble chain of manic vintages (2001, 2007) as separate from the rich sedate vintages (2006, 2009). It's electric, quivering, goose-fleshed, shimmery yet hedonic yet weightless yet as energetic as a kitten jumping after a laser."
95+ Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(11/2018) "One of the things I admire most about Laurent Champs is his ability to turn out not just good - but great - wines in challenging years in which other growers struggle. Vibrant, nuanced and breathtakingly beautiful, the 2010 is simply mesmerizing. A kaleidoscope of aromas, flavors and textures dazzles all the senses in a taut, vibrant Champagne that will stop readers dead in their tracks. The 2010 is every bit that good. A few years in the cellar should help the wine soften a bit, but it is incredibly beautiful today. Dosage is 7 grams per liter. Disgorged: February, 2017. Drink 2020 - 2032."

Veuve Clicquot "La Grande Dame" Brut Champagne 2008

95 Wine Spectator
(11/30/2018) "An elegant Champagne, powered by a sculpted frame of acidity and minerality, this wears the refined, lacy mousse and well-meshed flavors of black currant, lemon curd, toast and marzipan like finely tailored clothing. Fresh and lasting, with hints of spice and smoke on the finish. Disgorged August 2016. Drink now through 2033."

Ruinart "Dom Ruinart" Blanc de Blancs Champagne 2004

97 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(11/2014) "The 2004 Dom Ruinart is just as brilliant and viscerally thrilling as it has always been. If anything, the 2004 has shut down considerably over the last six months. Tightly coiled and exceptionally beautiful, the 2004 boasts fabulous intensity, class and pedigree. The flavors are vibrant, chiseled and crystalline in their precision. Time in bottle is doing wonders for the 2004. This is a tremendous showing. Disgorged June 2013."

Bollinger "La Grande Annee" Brut Champagne 2007

94+ Wine Advocate
94 Wine Spectator
94 Jeb Dunnuck
(3/15/2018) "I loved the 2007 La Grande Annee, which is based on 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay. Over 90% of this cuvee was sourced from Grand Cru sites, with the balance from Premier Cru villages. Vinified all in older barrels and aged 6 years in bottle on lees, it boasts a deep, rich, creamy style as well as full-bodied notes of ripe stone fruits, wood smoke, and spice. It has vibrant acidity, impressive length, and notable purity, all making for a classy, impressive Champagne that will keep for 10-15 years."

Egly Ouriet "V.P." Grand Cru Champagne NV 2

95 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(8/2016) "One of the many highlights in this range, the NV Extra Brut Grand Cru V.P. (Vieillissement Prolongé) bristles with energy from start to finish. Two important vintages (2008 and 2006) come together in this release. Lemon oil, chamomile, pear, hazelnut, acacia and wild flowers open up in the glass, but it is the wine's interplay of power and freshness that is totally beguiling. There is so much to like. The current release is 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay, 60% 2008 and 40% 2006. Disgorged November, 2015. Dosage is 2 grams per liter."

Vilmart "Grand Cellier d'Or" Premier Cru Brut Champagne 2013

Importer Theise says of Vilmart's wines, which are arguably some of the greatest in all of Champagne, "This estate has undergone a subtle but profound ascension from the earthbound to the celestial." And he goes on to say, "I wonder if a year from now we'll be talking about '13 the way we did about 2008 a few years ago. Because this is looking more and more like magic. This wine is lively and gushes the fragrance of mirabelles, with its typical sandalwood aromas arriving on the mid-palate and into the finish. Classy, buoyant, almost comically long."
