A Tribute to Grace Santa Barbara County Grenache Rose 2017

New low price! Regular Vin Chicago retail - $53.99!
91 Our Score
(5/2018) The arrival of Angela Osborne's "A Tribute to Grace" Rose is always much anticipated by staff and in-the-know customers. For those not familiar with the story, Angela - a New Zealand native - named the winery in honor of her grandmother, Grace, and these small-batch wines have developed quite a following. Crafted from specific biodynamically farmed blocks of Grenache in the Santa Barbara Highlands Vineyard, Angela's 2017 Rose is incredibly finessed and beautifully structured. On the nose and palate there are a symphony of orange rind, white tea and red flowers. The finish is zesty and perfectly balanced by a bit of richness. The wine is amazing now, but it will be truly epic in another year. Dare we suggest decanting a Rose? Only 734 cases were produced of this incredibly finessed wine and we are thrilled to have been able to get our hands on some.

Bichi "Rosa" Tecanta Rose 2017

90+ Our Score
(9/2018) This small family run winery is causing quite the stir north and south of the border! Once you taste these wines you will see why! They possess such sizzling energy and verve, totally unique and utterly enthralling. Their "Rosa" comes from a small 20-hectare dry farmed vineyard and the grape varietal is... Uknown. Some think it may be Carinena, other Dolcetto, but when it is this good they decided they really don't care what they call it. Made entirely by hand with minimal intervention, these wines truly speak of their Baja heritage.

Brand "Wildrose Pur" Pfalz Portugieser Rose 2016

90 Our Score
(8/2018) The Brand brothers have been on fire recently. Each new release from these young vignerons keeps getting better and better, and people are sitting up and taking notice. They have been sweeping the natural wine fairs lately, their names being rumbled in every corner. The brothers have also started a new line dubbed "Pur", a sweeping array of different varietals all down with zero intervention, entirely pure grape juice. Their "Wildrose" rose is made with the slightly obscure Portugieser grape. The color is dark for rose, almost a translucent neon purple, and tastes like lavender and purple flowers crushed in fresh mixed berries. Indeed a bit wild, this rose is unique but incredibly delicious.

A Tribute to Grace Santa Barbara County Grenache Rose 2018

This new release of A Tribute to Grace Rose is like spring in a glass!
92 Our Score
(4/2019) Grenache virtuoso Angela Osborne biodynamically farms a single parcel of Grenache vines in the Santa Barbara Highlands Vineyard that is used exclusively for her annual bottling of Rose. Her passion for Grenache comes through in all of her wines and this fresh release of Rose is a beautiful and expressive example that can easily pass for a top-tier classic from Provence. The wine is vibrant and full of life with a smooth and round texture that caresses the palate. Deep and complex flavors of strawberry, honeydew melon, peach and cherry skin are met with notes of honeysuckle, fresh cut flowers, white pepper and refreshing minerality. This full-bodied effort is best enjoyed today with a plate of grilled Mediterranean-style cuisine, and be sure to stash a few bottles of this gem away for next year's Rosé season because it will age, you know... Grace-fully!

Santa Maria Patrimonio Rose 2017

90 Our Score
(8/2018) Thomas Santamaria hand-selects the grapes for this delicious rosé from 25-year-old vines of organically farmed Niellucciu in the arid, mountainous Corsican region of Patrimonio, then ferments them with native yeasts in stainless steel with minimal sulphur. Think Provence but with a bit more weight and texture, as aromas and flavors of fresh strawberry, ripe peach and red cherry are vibrant and generous, and the palate has the juicy acidity and sleek minerality that is exemplary of any rosé worth drinking.

La Mascaronne "Quat 'Saisons" Cotes de Provence Rose 2018

91 Wine Advocate
(4/30/2019) "This organic producer clearly merits more attention. The 2018 Cotes de Provence Rose Quat'Saisons offers up hints of wet stone, fresh herbs and citrus on the nose, then adds red currant, cranberry and cherry on the light to medium-bodied palate. It unfolds nicely, yielding pleasant notes of white chocolate on the long, harmonious finish."
