Deltetto "Clone 777" Langhe Pinot Nero 2016

90+ Our Score
(1/2019) This single-vineyard, single-clone Pinot Noir from the passionate Deltetto family of Roero was a great surprise! Clean, structured and quite pretty, it manages to be Burgundian in style while retaining a Piemontese flair. Notes of cherry, cranberry, blood orange and holiday spice are coaxed-out with aeration. Clean and dry with wonderful texture from its extremely fine tannins, this is a serious wine with no fat on its bones. The length and intensity indicate a wine that will evolve well in the bottle, if you happen to have that kind of patience! We were shocked at how well this affordable wine showed even after being open for a week!

Deltetto "Clone 777" Langhe Pinot Nero 2017

91 Our Score
(6/2019) From one of Piedmont's best producers of sparkling wines comes this excellent, single-clone, certified organic Pinot Noir from the Deltetto family. Historically, most of the Pinot Noir grapes they grow are used in the production of their metodo classico wines, but now that the Pinot Noir vines are getting older they are able to turn out a serious still wine. This medium-bodied effort is delicious and complex with notes of black cherry, plum and wild raspberry layered with nuances of dried earth, baking spices, tea leaf and dried red floral tones. With one foot in Burgundy and one firmly planted at home in Piedmont, this wonderful expression of Pinot Noir is unique, smartly priced, and most importantly, totally delicious!

G. D. Vajra Langhe Nebbiolo 2016

91+ Our Score
92 Wine Advocate
(6/29/2018) "Here is another terrific interpretation of Nebbiolo from a vintage that promises fantastic results with this finicky grape. The 2016 Langhe Nebbiolo offers bright floral and fruity intensity with dried violets, cassis, blueberry and forest floor. The effect is fine and elegant, and the wine finishes with smooth silkiness. The fruit is pressed cold at harvest in order to maintain that distinctive crispness and freshness. Drink Date 2018 - 2022."

Luigi Baudana "Dragon" Langhe Bianco 2016

A delicious Piedmontese white blend from the sister winery of G.D. Vajra!
90 Our Score
(9/2018) This lovely blend of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Nascetta showcases a little something from each grape. The Chardonnay adds body and orchard fruits, the Sauvignon brings citrus notes and brisk acidity, and the Nascetta contributes a whiff of aromatic elegance. This fleshy white would pair wonderfully with a whole roasted snapper crusted in fresh herbs and lemon.

Parusso Langhe Bianco 2016

100% Sauvignon Blanc from Piedmont! A very exotic, juicy style loaded with tropical fruits.
91 Wine Advocate
(6/30/2017) "If you are looking for a tonic, vegetal and pungent Sauvignon Blanc, this is not your wine. Instead, the 2016 Langhe Bianco is a ripe and rich expression made with fruit that has been left to rest (causing the skins to soften) before being pressed. The wine ages on the lees and sees partial malolactic fermentation. The bouquet emits round aromas of apricot, candied orange peel and tropical fruit. The mouthfeel is soft and succulent. This wine will last longer than your average Sauvignon Blanc. Drink Date 2017 - 2022."

G. D. Vajra Langhe Rosso 2016

90 Our Score
(12/2018) A delicious blend of 40% Barbera, 25% Dolcetto, 25% Nebbiolo and 10% Freisa. The bouquet bursts with blueberry, cherry and strawberry aromas, followed by herbal tones of anise and lavender. On the palate it is bright and fresh with the cherry really coming through. The finish is flowery, mineral-laden and utterly silky smooth.

G. D. Vajra Langhe Rosso 2017

90 Our Score
(4/2019) The 2017 Langhe Rosso from Vajra captures the beauty of Piedmont in a playful and energetic red that is both fruity and complex. A field blend of Barbera, Nebbiolo, Dolcetto and a handful of other Piedmontese grapes, the wine sings of fresh cherries, strawberry and raspberry with beautiful red floral tones and an enticing underlying earthiness that maintains the wine's "old world" origin. This outstanding light red should be served with a slight chill and enjoyed with pizza, light pasta dishes, hors d'oeuvres, or all on its own.
