Craggy Range "Te Muna Road Vineyard" Marlborough Pinot Noir 2012

93 Wine Spectator
94 Wine & Spirits
(4/2016) "This is a Narnia wine, its flavors otherworldly, their shape as regal and bold as a lion's mane, the ruff of a strange and magical beast feeding on onion grass, herbs, flowers and then meat grilled over an open fire. It has a vibrant lightness and energy that lives in the shadows. This grows on the top terrace at Te Muna Road, where the Huangarua River left a deep bed of gravel and stones under a thin surface of sandy loam more than 20,000 years ago. Steve Smith, MW, planted eight clones of pinot noir segmented into 40 blocks, harvested late after a cool season, fermented with 10 percent whole clusters in oak vats and stainless steel tanks, and aged the wine in French oak barriques (25 percent new). All of that combines into a pinot noir with outrageous complexity and the vitality to support it for a decade in the bottle."

Saint Clair Family Estate "Origin" Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2017

91 Our Score

(7/1/2018) "This wine flexes its muscles in a totally lovable way, offering up a heady melange of pineapple, grapefruit, fresh bell peppers, grass and some salty sea air. The acidity is crisp and zingy, balanced by a slightly slippery texture and finishing on a pleasing grapefruit note."

Cloudy Bay Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2017

Hot price on this Sauvignon Blanc legend!
90 Wine Advocate
(2/28/2018) "The 2017 Sauvignon Blanc may not go down as an all-time classic Cloudy Bay, but in a difficult vintage, the wine has turned out excellent. Hints of snow pea pods accent tropical fruit notes in a wine that is soft, round and harmonious, showing ample concentration and length despite the rain-plagued harvest. Unlike the 2005, a freakish vintage that continues to drink well, I'd opt for drinking the 2017 over the next year or two. Drink Date 2018 - 2019." (New Zealand)

Incredible blowout deal, this wine has a $50 reference price!

(12/22/2016) "A brambly and perfumed wine that has plenty of sappy red cherries and spices. It's full of fragrances and sweet-berry perfumes, not to mention a little touch of rose petals. Crisp tannins come into play from the get-go on the palate, heralding flavors of raspberries and red cherries. A beautifully defined, long and balanced style. Majestic structure and a deep and focused finish. Best from 2018 and up to 2025."

Giesen "Brookby Rd" Marlborough Pinot Noir 2012

A superb steal on the single-vineyard Pinot with a $75 reference price!

(12/31/2016) "It's taken some time for many of Marlborough's 2012 Pinot Noirs (the product of a cool season) to come around, but this is one that's worth the wait. It's evolved into something quite round and soft, with a long, silky finish. Yet it's not a fruit-forward wine by any stretch, showing more earth, soy and mushroom notes and just enough plum and black cherry fruit to carry those savory complexities. Drink now-2020."

(11/13/2017) "Pungent passion fruit and fragrant melon, Tahitian lime citrus, this really takes sauvignon to another place for Marlborough, exposing the edgy, exciting and minerally possibilities whilst embracing the rampant intensity of fruit. Great acid, mouth-watering from front to back. Drink now." (New Zealand)

(5/1/2018) "Loveblock is the label of Erica and Kim Crawford, former owners of one of New Zealand's most famous brands. Their latest Sauvignon Blanc from organically grown fruit displays subtlety and complexity. The nose is a soft synthesis of peach, cantaloupe, lemon-lime, watermelon rind and warm stone minerality, while the palate is all about texture. It's tight, structured and chalky, with prickly acidity and a long citrus and mineral finish. Drink now with an array of seafood and salad dishes. Editor's Choice"

Churton Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2017

91 Our Score
(7/2018) Consistently one of our favorite sub- $20 Sauvignon Blancs from New Zealand, the 2017 Churton will appeal not only to fans of Kiwi SB but to lovers of Sancerre and other old world, mineral-focused Sauvignon Blancs as well. Look for a balanced and textured mouthfeel with brisk acidity and tones of grapefruit, nectarine, citrus blossom and bell pepper. Great juice here! (New Zealand)
