Holger Koch Kaiserstuhl Spatburgunder 2019
92
Our Score
(2/2021) Perhaps our most "gluggable" wine at the moment, the Holger Koch Pinot Noir is meant to be popped after a long day of work or at a spontaneous picnic at the park. The nose exhibits bright cherry and cranberry aromas with hints of black tea. On the palate, the same delightful fruit is present, intertwined with a delicate tannin structure and capped off by a long, tart, minerally finish. This wonderful combination of brightness and texture will match perfectly with lighter fare - especially roast chicken!

Beurer Baden-Wurttemberg Trollinger 2018
90
Our Score
(3/2021) Energy is the name of the game for former Pro BMX rider and current winemaker Jochen Beurer. His wines all have a lively bounciness that we like to think Jochen brought over from his former career. Coming from 45-year-old Trollinger vines planted on a single hectare this is quite a treat. For the wine nerds, this grape is slightly more commonly known as Italy's Schiava. What's in the glass? Think dried spices, cranberries, raspberries, and tart cherry for this beauty. It's juicy and lighter-bodied on the palate, with delicate tannins and a touch of earth seeing you through the pleasurable finish. Give it a slight chill to amplify your enjoyment!

Enderle & Moll "Weiss & Grau" White Blend 2019
The estate known as Enderle and Moll is really just two guys, a tiny cellar, a basket press, a few hectares of old vines - and a ton of buzz. Don't miss thiss one!
92
Our Score
(3/2021) Sven Enderle and Florian Moll are two of the hardest working and talented winemakers in Germany but only recently has it felt like they've gotten their due. Wines like this "Weiss & Grau" are a big reason why, a fantastic 60/40 blend of Pinot Blanc/Pinot Gris, fermented with skins for 3-4 weeks and then aged on its lees for a further 10 months. This intense white showcases a virtual cornucopia of notes such as nectarine, apricot, citrus, apple, salinity, and brilliant minerality. It follows with a grippy texture, medium mouth weight, and sneaky ample acidity. A really fun wine to experiment with regarding pairings, from Burrata to Chilean Sea Bass - this is a dynamite food wine!"
