Chateau Lespault-Martillac Pessac-Leognan 2012

91 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
91 James Suckling
90 Wine Advocate
(4/29/2015) "This property, which is owned by Domaine de Chevalier, has produced a wine that is a blend of 65% Merlot and 35% Cabernet Sauvignon. It is a very supple-textured, medium to full-bodied wine, with an impressively saturated ruby/ purple color. The graphite, barbecue smoke, blackcurrants and black cherries make for an intriguing and fascinating medium to full-bodied wine with plenty of velvety texture. This is lush, plump, very complex and promising. Drink it over the next 10-15 years."

Chateau Joanin Becot Castillon Cotes de Bordeaux 2016

92 Wine Advocate
94 James Suckling
(1/21/2019) "Aromas of blackberries and blackcurrants. Hints of fresh and wet earth. Full-bodied, very tight and polished with ultra-fine tannins and a beautiful finish. Shows intensity and brightness. Exciting. Top for the appellation. Needs five to six years to come together, but already gorgeous. Better after 2024."

Les Trois Petiotes Cotes de Bourg 2014

90+ Our Score
(2/2019) Les Trois Petiotes is the winery of Valerie Godelu, her husband and their three "petiotes," a loving nickname in French for your children. It is a small winery and she makes just one wine from 45-year-old vines that she farms organically and biodynamically in Bordeaux's Cotes du Bourg appellation. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Malbec, the wine sings loudly of Bordeaux with expressive and juicy notes of black cherry, blackberry and a hint of cassis. The oak used at the winery to age the wine is totally neutral, leaving room for the secondary flavors of gravel, moist organic earth and dried green herbs to effortlessly come through. The tannins are round and soft lending it to pair wonderfully with braised meats. This beauty is fun, funky and totally delicious to drink!

Chateau Tour des Termes St. Estephe 2009

89 Wine Spectator
(3/2012) "A fresh, lively style, with a hint of anise on the edges of the sappy damson plum and cherry pit notes. A mix of currant and pomegranate are backed by briar on the finish. This should be a solid buy for mid-term cellaring. Best from 2013 through 2022. 8,500 cases made."

Chateau Haut-Brisson St.-Emilion 2016

92 Wine Advocate
94 James Suckling
92 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(1/2019) "The 2016 Haut Brisson is terrific. Plush and succulent in the glass, with tons of textural intensity, the 2016 has so much to offer. Dark red cherry, chocolate, mocha and spice all build in a beautifully textured, racy Saint-Emilion that is already quite delicious. The 2016 has really come together quite nicely over the course of its aging. Drink 2021 - 2036."

La Chenade Lalande-de-Pomerol 2016

93 Jeb Dunnuck
92 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(1/2019) "The 2016 La Chenade offers a striking interplay of sweet red berry/plum fruit, blood orange, mint and exotic spice. Cabernet Franc aromatics are super-expressive in this pliant, mid-weight Lalande de Pomerol, with rose petal, star anise and savory herb overtones that emerge in the glass. La Chenade shows just how appealing 2016 is, even among humbler appellations. The 2016 is 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc."

Chateau Cote de Baleau St.-Emilion 2012

90 James Suckling
90 Wine Spectator
90 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(7/2015) "Iron, smoke, savory herb, dried rose petal, mint and fennel are some of the notes that emerge from the 2012 Côte de Baleau. There is good depth in the glass, even if some slightly angular contours remain. The perfumed, aromatic finish adds to the wine's near-term appeal. This is the last wine made by Sophie Fourcade before she sold her three estates (including Clos St. Martin and Les Grandes Murailles) to the Cuvelier family, who also own Clos Fourtet, which lies adjacent to Les Grandes Murailles. Drinking window: 2016 - 2025."

Chateau Le Thil Pessac-Leognan 2014

A serious buy here from the owners of Bordeaux's Chateau Smith-Haut-Lafitte. The Le Thil estate is adjacent to the famous S-H-L, yet sells for a fraction of the price!
92 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
91 Wine Spectator
(3/31/2017) "There's lots of brambly energy here, with blackberry, plum and raspberry preserve notes rippling through, picking up anise and black tea details along the way. Has contrast and range. Well done. Best from 2018 through 2026."

Chateau La Tour de Bessan Margaux 2015

Great price on this still-young 2015 Margaux. Give it a few years in the cellar or a few hours in the decanter!
92 James Suckling
90 Decanter
(9/10/2017) "Tight and firm, with great depth of fruit. It is young and a little closed right now, needing time. Good, but no smooth edges yet. Leave ideally for another three to four years, or decant for a few hours before drinking. Drinking Window 2020 - 2032."

Chateau de Chambrun Lalande de Pomerol 2011

90 Wine Advocate
(4/29/2014) "A big-time sleeper of the vintage from proprietor Silvio Denz, this sensational 2011 transcends the vintage as well as the reputation of the appellation. It exhibits a dense ruby/purple color along with plenty of chocolaty berry fruit and a plump, full-bodied, opulent, layered style. This is about as good as a Lalande de Pomerol can be. Drink it over the next 6-8 years."
