Prieler "Leithaberg" Neusidlersee-Hugelland Pinot Blanc 2012

New low price! Regular Vin Chicago retail - $39.99!
91 Our Score
91 Wine Enthusiast
(5/1/2014) "Appetizing, flinty notes of woodsmoke mingle with green pear and unite into wonderful concentration on the linear palate. A rounded but toned wine, with some muscle and an almost phenolic grip, this calls out for food and will be a worthy accompaniment for white meats. Wonderful apple-dominated and prolonged finish."

Judith Beck "Schafleiten" Burgenland St Laurent 2015

If you enjoy Pinot Noir, you must check this one out!
91 Our Score
(11/2018) Judith Beck, one of our favorite Austrian winemakers, turned out a beautiful expression of St. Laurent (an indigenous Austrian red grape related to Pinot Noir). This single vineyard bottling is sourced from Schafleiten in Burgenland. It drinks like an elegant Pinot Noir with a silky texture. Look for a wonderful balance of beautiful dried red fruits layered with dried tea leaf, subtle smoke and spice notes. The finish is long and complex. Well worth it's typical $30 price tag, our to-good-to-be-true price makes this one a must-buy!

Meinklang Zweigelt 2017

90 Our Score
(3/2019) This is the ideal summer red is medium-bodied, super-fresh and juicy with ample ripe cherry and cranberry, yet it still exemplifies Zweigelt's trademark granite and spice. Being Meinklang, this is of course biodynamically farmed, naturally fermented, with minimal SO2 and filtration. Will be delicious on its own or with grilled meats and veggies this summer and well into next fall.

Meinklang Foam Somlo White 2018

90 Our Score
(3/2019) Using native Hungarian varietals Harslevelu and Juhfark from their property across the Austrian border in the tiny volcanic region of Somlo, Meinklang's methode ancestral version of their Hungarian white blend is everything you want in a pet-nat. Bright, crisp, only 10.5 alcohol, and bursting with juicy lemon and tart apple. There is no added SO2, no filtration and it's completely chuggable.

Heidi Schrock "Biscaya" Rust Rose 2018

91 Our Score
(4/2019) Importer Terry Thiese says of the great Heidi Schrock and her wines..."Heidi's wines arise so ineluctably from the woman she is that there's no border between human and wine. They breathe the same air." This dry pink blends Lagrein, Teroldego, Petit Verdot, Syrah, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zweigelt and Blaufrankisch. It is raised in acacia, oak and stainless steel, left on the lees for four months, then bottled and shipped around the world to those lucky enough to drink it. A wonderful expression of rose from the Burgenland region of southern Austria.

Judith Beck "Ink" Burgenland Red 2016

89+ Our Score
(11/2017) While Austrian winemaker Judith Beck is best known for her brilliant high-end red wines, she also makes juicy and deliciously fun everyday wines like "Ink." This tasty blend of 80% Zweigelt and 20% St Laurent was fermented entirely in tank using only wild yeasts. Red berried, fresh and lively, this red will be equally perfect with Turkey leftovers as with weeknight fare such as pasta, pizza and tacos.
