Clos i Terrasses "Clos Erasmus" Priorat 2015

99 Wine Advocate
100 Jeb Dunnuck
(2/21/2018) "The 2015 Clos Erasmus has a similar level of purity to the 2013, yet is a riper, sexier wine that has an incredible voluptuousness and depth on the palate that's hard to believe. Kirsch, blackberries, cassis, graphite, liquid rock, dusty earth, and violet characteristics all emerge from this sensational, full-bodied, expansive Priorat that has sweet tannin and a huge finish. While it's a very different wine than the 2013, it's just as perfect. The 2015 is 75% Garnacha and 25% Syrah, aged 20 months in 40% new French Taransaud barrels, with 5% in clay amphorae. There are roughly 250 cases produced and it's a heavenly, singular wine to drink over the coming 15-20+ years. Hats off to winemaker Daphne Glorian!"

Clos i Terrasses "Clos Erasmus" Priorat 2016

99 Jeb Dunnuck
(4/3/2019) "Not far off the magical 2013, the 2016 Clos Erasmus shows the purity and freshness of the vintage yet backs it up with rock star depth of fruit and richness. A huge nose of blueberries, creme de cassis, blood orange, and violets give way to a full-bodied Priorat that has flawless balance and purity, a stacked mid-palate, ripe tannins, and a finish that goes on for over a minute. This is pure, elegant, yet powerful Priorat at its finest. The 2016 is a blend of 75% Grenache and 25% Syrah that spent 18 months in 40% new oak. Give bottles 2-3 years, count yourself lucky, and enjoy over the following 15-20 years. Maturity 2021 - 2041."

Familia Nin-Ortiz "Nit de Nin" Priorat 2015

97 Wine Advocate
(4/27/2018) "The Nit de Nin family has grown with the addition of a new vineyard. The wine produced since 2003 comes from Mas d'en Cacador-this was always named on the label, but it is now also specified in the wine name to distinguish between the new vineyard. The 2015 Nit de Nin Mas d'en Cacador comes from the vineyard mentioned in the name, a famous place in Porrera planted with old vines of Garnacha Negra, Garnacha Peluda and Carinena. It fermented in an oak vat with indigenous yeasts and matured in a similar vat for 18 months. It's heady and ripe, exuberant and very open, a hedonistic, round and lush wine. The palate reveals very fine tannins and great harmony. Drink Date 2018 - 2025."

92+ Wine Advocate
92 Wine Spectator
93 Jeb Dunnuck
(2/21/2018) "A blend of 65% Garnacha, 25% Cariñena and 10% Syrah, the 2015 Salanques comes from a steep, three-hectare vineyard located near the village of Poboleda. This deep ruby/purple colored beauty offers a stunning bouquet of blueberries, raspberries, violets, and hints of resinous herbs and flowers. Medium to full-bodied, with a light, graceful, elegant texture that just glides across the palate, It's not huge, but has plenty of intensity and length. Maturity: 2018 - 2028."

Herencia Altes "La Serra Negre" Terra Alta Carinyena/Garnatxa Negra 2015

Only a few cases available of this tiny-production, single-vineyard gem...
93+ Wine Advocate
(10/28/2016) "The 2015 La Serra Negre is a blend of old-vine Cariñena with 20% Garnacha from a single vineyard that names the wine. I see a lot less oak here, and the wines are showing better balance, more purity and letting the terroir shine through. This is a great Cariñena with the floral and tree bark notes, both earthy and ethereal. The palate shows some grainy, chalky tannins that provide a very tasty, almost salty finish. 2,000 bottles produced."

Raventos i Blanc "De Nit" Cava Reserva Rosada 2016

91 Wine & Spirits
(8/2018) "De Nit is based on monastrell and comes from the vineyards of La Barbera, La Plana and Viader, where the soils are deep loamy clay. This sparkler is focused on sour cherry flavors, seeming to deliver those flavors in the bubbles, pointed and firm. This is refreshing, juicy, crystalline in its fruit expression."

Can Sumoi Ancestral Montonega 2017

90 Our Score
(5/2019) Can Sumoi is the new label for natural wines from the superlative Cava producer Raventos I Blanc, whose aim is to produce wines from traditional Cava varietals that exhibit terroir without intervention. The Montonega (aka Parellada) is hand-picked, macerated for 4 hours with the skins, then partially fermented with native yeasts, leaving the fermentation to complete in the bottle. The result is a crisp, fizzy wine with bright notes of underripe apple flesh and white flowers, with a touch of salinity on the finish. Having mastered modern Cava winemaking, Raventos set its sights on ultra-traditional methods and they have nailed it!

Castell d'Age Brut Rosado Reserva NV

90 Our Score
(3/2018) Made from 100% Pinot Noir, this Cava is a rarity among the grapes grown in the Alt Penedes. A deep pink color gives way to notes of fresh strawberries and raspberries with lots of long-lasting bubbles and a chalky minerality. Its aging on its fine lees for almost two years adds additional complexity and mouthfeel. This wine is an over-achiever for its under $20 price point!

(12/2018) This unique Spanish sparkler comes from organic and biodynamically farmed vineyards in the Penedes. The wine is produced from 100% Samso (a.k.a. Carignan) and is aged for over 4 years on the lees. In the glass, the wine has a slightly pink and orange hue with beautiful aromas of deep red, blue and purple fruits. The palate is soft and creamy with a long finish filled with delicious minerality. Who knew sparkling Carignan could be this much fun!
