Maculan "Fratta" Breganze Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot 2006

How often do you get to try a mature example of a wine Monica Larner calls "an icon" and "a timeless classic". Savor it, there's very little available and at our price - 45% off the only other offering in the country - it won't be here long!
93 Wine Advocate
(10/30/2009) "The 2006 Fratta jumps from the glass with tons of vibrant fruit. Roasted coffee beans, graphite, minerals, cassis and French oak develop in the glass, adding further complexity. Although the 2006 comes across as somewhat slender, the wine possesses outstanding length and a refined, polished finish. Fratta is 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot that spent 12 months in French oak. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2021."

Monte Zovo Amarone della Valpolicella 2013

93 Wine Advocate
(5/31/2017) "The 2013 Amarone della Valpolicella hits all the right buttons in terms of fruity softness and richness. This is a densely extracted red wine that offers a full court of aromas with plump cherry, dried blackberry, bitter chocolate and exotic spice front and center. The mouthfeel is immensely rich and succulent with superbly round and soft fruit flavors. If you love Amarone, this is a great new find."

Gini "Contrada Salvarenza" Vecchie Vigne Soave Classico 2013

92 Our Score
93 Wine Advocate
(5/31/2017) "In terms of complexity, richness and potential longevity, Soave Classico does not get better than this. The 2013 Soave Classico Contrada Salvarenza Vecchie Vigne opens to a luminous off-gold color with ripe aromas of peach, Golden Delicious apple, saffron and toasted almond. The wine shows the beautiful mineral crispness and linearity that characterize volcanic soils. The mouthfeel is fleshed out and shows impressive consistency. This structured white wine should continue its bottle evolution over the better part of the next decade. Drink Date 2017 - 2025"

Ilatium "Campo Leon" Amarone della Valpolicella 2013

92+ Our Score
(2/2019) Checking in at 16%, the Ilatium "Campo Leon" Amarone is a huge wine! Powerfully concentrated, it delivers flavors of smoky dark black fruits and coffee along with hints of new French and American oak. A blend of 70% Corvina, 20% Rondinella and the rest Croatina and Oseleta, it would be a brilliant match with slow-cooked winter stews and hearty soups!

Vignalta "Marrano" Veneto Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot 2010

92+ Our Score
(9/2018) The Vignalta estate in Veneto has bottled one of the most delicious and complex sub-$30 Cabernet/Merlot blends we've had in many months! Grown in volcanic soils, this elegant, eight-year-old wine could carry a $60 price tag if labeled Pauillac or St. Estephe and no one would bat an eye. This complex, earthy, mineral-driven red offers a nuanced combination of green tones, leather, pepper, plum and cassis. Drink now and over the next 10+ years. A seriously cool, long and impressive wine.

Buglioni "Il Bugiardo" Valpolicella Classico Superiore Ripasso 2015

91 Our Score
(8/2019) This powerful Ripasso blends 60% Corvina, 20% Corvinone, 10% Rondinella, 5% Croatina and 5% Oseleta. The name of the wine speaks to its serious nature and deliciously complex flavors. According to the winery, when a top sommelier tasted the first vintage of this wine in 2000, they proclaimed... "If this is not Amarone, then it is a lying wine!" This incident led to them naming the wine "Il Bugiardo" or "the liar." Intense, balanced and lifted, this is A LOT of wine for the money!

Az Agr Costadila "450 SLM" Colli Trevigiani Frizzante Bianco 2015

91 Our Score
(10/2018) The brainchild of the late Ernesto Cattel and a handful of partners, Costadilla represents a throwback to an older time, embracing traditional methods and bringing them back to life. Made from the four traditional grapes of Prosecco: Glera, Prosecco, Bianchietta and Verdizo (the latter three have fallen into obscurity). The name of the wine "450 SLM", is in reference to the elevation of the vineyards. The grapes are dried and left briefly in contact with the skins, resulting in a beautiful burnt orange hue that is reminiscing of the setting sun. This is a beautifully executed traditional Prosecco that will redefine how you view the category.
