Route Stock Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

It's quite amazing given the modern economics of Napa that we can still bring you Cabernet like this under $20. Expertly sourced, this is only a 5,000 case annual production, peanuts compared to the "big guys.
89 Wine Enthusiast
(9/1/2018) "Merlot makes its way into this red, softening its extracted red-cherry and cassis flavors and sizable, though integrated, tannins."

Newton "Skyside" Sonoma County Chardonnay 2016

89 Our Score
(8/2018) "Skyside" is the new name for Newton's wines that have long been been known as "Red Label." Their 2016 Sonoma County Chardonnay is a real winner that really overdelivers. The complexity and balance offered in this beauty really stands out. Look for a rich, full and creamy mouthfeel with classic Chardonnay flavors of ripe apple, yellow pears and citrus zest layered with delicious oak-driven tones of fresh baked pie crust, baking spice, blanched almonds and a pleasant note of butterscotch. At our low price, this high quality Chardonnay can be sipped on during book club or paired with a butter-poached Lobster feast. (California)

Bench Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2014

89-90 Our Score
(10/2016) Did you know that Bench winemaker Dan Fitzgerald trained with Bob Cabral at Williams-Selyem, one of California's most renowned Pinot Noir producers? It's true, and his latest effort from Bench is another winner. Aged for 11 months in French oak, 30% of which was new, this authentic Pinot Noir gives lean cherry, cassis and strawberry flavors along with a hint of earth on the finish. Excellent.

Bow & Arrow "Hughes Hollow Vineyard" Willamette Valley Gamay 2017

89 Our Score
(10/2018) Drawing inspiration from the wines of the Loire Valley, Bow & Arrow is crafting wines of humble beauty, deeply rooted in Willamette Valley terroir. Sourced from two parcels of Gamay in the southern reaches of the valley, the grapes undergo partial carbonic maceration and ferment entirely in concrete. Bow & Arrow's Gamay is a tribute to the legendary, and now impossible to find, Gamay of Clos Roche Blanche. Joyful and bright, this is one superb bottle of Oregon wine.

From The Tank Rose Wine NV 3.0 LT

New low price! Regular Vin Chicago retail - $22.99!
86 Our Score
(4/2018) The "From the Tank" line is a special project of high quality boxed wines from importers Jenny & Francois Selections. This 3L box is the equivalent of 4 regular bottles of wine and can be kept for up to 3 - 4 weeks after opening. Not to mention the packaging is extremely environmentally friendly, leaving a far smaller footprint than traditional bottles. The goal was to source the highest quality organic fruit from some of their producers and make friendly everyday wines that are simple, accessible and naturally made. The Rose is a blend of 80% Grenache, 20% Syrah. The nose may trick you into thinking there is more fruit to this wine but when you taste it, the palate is totally brisk and clean. Minerality, hints of watermelon and acidity mix to create a refreshing, not overbearing, wine. This natural wine is one to drink with summer fare: salads, Mediterranean fare, light finger foods and more. Of course, you can also enjoy this refreshing, light wine cold sitting on the back porch. A natural wine at this price is a steal.

Newton "Skyside" Sonoma County Claret 2015

89+ Our Score
(7/2017) "Skyside" is the new brand name for Newton's wines that have long been been known as "Red Label." The 2015 Claret is a big-time winner with a very warm and inviting array of fruit forward flavors such as ripe black cherries, red raspberries, plum and a touch of cassis. It is well balanced with a soft mouthfeel, round textures and invigorating acidity, all layered by a touch of oak spice and whiff of green pepper. Enjoy this delicious, well-made red blend any night of the week or serve it at large gatherings as an all-purpose and crowd pleasing red.

C.G. Paris "Douby" Morgon 2015

89 Our Score
(4/2018) One of the more delicate renditions to come out of the 2015 vintage, C.G. Paris's Morgon bottling maintains a perfect balance between the ripe fruit of the vintage and the subtleties that lovers of his wines have come to expect. Pomegranates, fresh strawberries and black reiner cherries are wrapped in dusty fresh soil. What is truly impressive is that this clocks in at only 12% ABV, a rarity for the vintage. This is very charming and drinking wonderfully now.

Elouan Oregon Pinot Noir 2016

When Joe Wagner sold "Meomi" about two summers ago, one thing that he held on to was Elouan. This is a much riper wine style than what Oregon fans are used to, and should cross-over nicely to those that prefer dark, rich, full Pinots.

88+ Our Score
88 Wine Enthusiast
(8/1/2018) "Those who enjoy Joe Wagner's California-style Pinot Noirs will find this quite comfortable. Its tart wild berry fruit comes with a plush streak of vanilla. Some coffee and tobacco highlights follow. There's plenty of power and flavor, but don't look for varietal specificity."
