Patricia Green Cellars "Marine Sedimentary" Chehalem Mountains Pinot Noir 2016

92 Wine Spectator
93+ Our Score
(8/2018) Flavors of black sour cherry, dark red flowers, river rock minerals and deep, chewy earth tones give a load of character to this structured bottling. Already quite impressive, this wine will really hit its stride 5 to 7 years down the line. If you drink some now, and we strongly recommend that you do, give it several hours in a decanter to allow the complexity and fruit to reveal themselves. Something very special here. Only 266 case produced.

Beckham Estate Vineyard Chehalem Mountains Pinot Noir 2015

91 Our Score
(10/2018) As Andrew and Annedria's hand-planted vineyard sees all of its vines eclipse 10 years of age, the seriousness of the juice here is becoming more obvious. So too, is the wiseness of choosing such a high altitude site. Increasingly warm and dry weather in the Willamette Valley has resulted in singing acidity and vibrancy, while alcohol remains at a balanced 13.3%. We love the serious structure and exotic notes including sweet violet and potpourri opulence laced over its ripe strawberry and black raspberry fruit. You should let this stunner unfurl with a few hours in the decanter, and stash a few in the cellar to follow over the next 6 years.

Beckham Estate Vineyard Chehalem Mountains Pinot Noir 2014

91 Our Score
(3/2018) Andrew Beckham has become a bit of a wine celebrity recently with his artisinal amphora design and clay-aged creations. Equally impressive though is his independent, from-the-ground-up story of acidentally becoming a winemaker. We also love the more conventional bottlings we've known for several vintages. Organically farming their estate vineyard at Parrett Mountain, and adding nothing but minimal sulfites at bottling - we love the bright crunchy red fruit and balanced mouthfeel here in this 400cs production. A blend of all four clonal varieties planted, this vintage utilized 25% whole clusters and 15% new oak. This is fresh and energetic, without any of the bitter edge we've witnessed in some 2014 Willamette Pinots with extensive stem usage. Good job teacher!
