Chateau Pavie Macquin St-Emilion Bordeaux 2016

98+ Jeb Dunnuck
(2/28/2019) "Possibly the finest vintage of this cuvee to date, the 2016 Chateau Pavie Macquin comes from a cooler, later terroir on the upper plateau and checks in as 82% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon aged in 50% new oak. This deep, inky-colored effort boasts a rock star bouquet of blackcurrants, black cherries, white truffle, graphite, and spice. Deep, rich, and powerful on the palate, yet also balanced, elegant, and seamless, with ultra-fine tannins, this seamless beauty needs a decade of cellaring and will keep for 4-5 decades. Maturity: 2029 - 2069."

Pursued by Bear Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Best known for roles in Twin Peaks, Blue Velvet, Desperate Housewives and Portlandia, Washington native Kyle MacLachlan partners with Dunham Cellars to craft this delicious Columbia Valley Cabernet.
95+ Jeb Dunnuck
(4/11/2019) "The Bordeaux blend is the 2015 Pursued by Bear, which checks in as 81% Cabernet Sauvignon and 19% Merlot that spent a whopping 32 months in barrel prior to bottling. It's another gem offering classic currant fruit, lots of spicy oak, cedar, and tobacco aromas, full-bodied richness, ultra-fine tannins, and a seamless texture. It's balance and purity stand out, and while it will benefit from 2-4 years or bottle age, I suspect it will keep for 20-25 years."

Hartford Court "Far Coast Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay 2016

96 Wine Advocate
98 Jeb Dunnuck
(6/14/2019) "Always one of my favorites, the 2016 Chardonnay Far Coast Vineyard is another classic beauty from this estate. Caramelized lemon and orchard fruits, beautiful minerality, notes of white flowers, spice, and some salty marine notes all dominate the nose. Medium to full-bodied, it offers beautiful tension and elegance, bright acidity, and a great finish. This rich, powerful, structured Chardonnay will be better with a year or two of bottle age and should evolve for over a decade. Maturity 2019 - 2029."

Ramey Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

93 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
93 Jeb Dunnuck
(6/5/2018) "The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is classic Ramey Cabernet all the way. Blackberries, currants, scorched earth, and charcoal aromatics, medium to full body, great elegance, and notable concentration all make for a top notch 2014 that can be drunk today or cellared for 10-15 years. The blend is 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, 6% Malbec, and 3% Petit Verdot, and it's made in decent enough quantities that it should be easy to find."

Bodegas Muga "Seleccion Especial" Reserva Rioja 2014

93 Vinous, Josh Raynolds
93 Wine Advocate
94 James Suckling
93+ Jeb Dunnuck
(3/1/2018) "A wine that won't be released on the market until next year, the 2014 Muga Reserva Seleccion Especial checks in as a blend of 70% Tempranillo, 15% Garnacha, 10% Graciano, 5% Manuelo. With an inky black color and loads of black fruits, charcoal, lead pencil, and espresso aromas and flavors, it's medium to full-bodied, has slightly more acidity than the 2012, as well as more tannin. It's a balanced, pure, beautiful expression of Rioja. It's going to benefit from short-term cellaring and keep for 15-20+ years."

Ramey Russian River Valley Chardonnay 2016

92 Our Score
95 Wine Enthusiast
(7/1/2019) "This is a great appellation wine, overdelivering on price with an opening touch of matchstick that evolves into a stony, high-toned expression of tangerine and blood orange. Within the fruit are savory notes of nutmeg, hazelnut and ginger that linger leisurely on the lengthy finish."

Salcheto Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva 2013

93 Wine Spectator
94 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(4/2018) "The 2013 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva is another wine of true distinction. Powerful and ample, with tons of depth, the 2013 is impressive. Fresh dark cherry, spice, licorice and menthol notes abound in this vibrant, beautifully resonant Vino Nobile. The 2013 spent three years in cask and was vinified with the 'governo' method an ancient Tuscan technique where some of the grapes are air-dried after harvest (Amarone style) and added later to the fermenting must to give more texture and richness to the wine. The governo method was helpful during a time in which ripeness in the field was not always easy to achieve. That is rarely the case these days, and governo today is more a stylistic choice than anything else. In a word: superb!"

Chateau Haut-Brisson St.-Emilion 2016

92 Wine Advocate
94 James Suckling
92 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(1/2019) "The 2016 Haut Brisson is terrific. Plush and succulent in the glass, with tons of textural intensity, the 2016 has so much to offer. Dark red cherry, chocolate, mocha and spice all build in a beautifully textured, racy Saint-Emilion that is already quite delicious. The 2016 has really come together quite nicely over the course of its aging. Drink 2021 - 2036."
