Domaine de la Mordoree "La Dame Rousse" Tavel Rose 2018

91 Our Score
(6/2019) The 2018 Mordoree Tavel has just arrived! Blending 60% Grenache with 10% Cinsault, 10% Mourvedre, 10% Syrah, 5% Bourboulenc and 5% Clairette, this 2018 bottling from Chateauneuf-du-Pape legend Domaine de la Mordoree is, once again, a big mouthful of a Rose. Give it an hour to breathe, then enjoy this full, ripe, spicy and deeply colored wine with grilled rack of lamb, venison sausages or smoked brisket. Delicious

Domaine Lignier Michelot Bourgogne Rouge 2014

92 Our Score
(7/2019) The Lignier Michelot wines always show such wonderful minerality and acid structure - probably the reason wine geeks like us love them so much! This 2014 Bourgone Rouge is drinking beautifully, revealing sour cherry and just-ripe raspberry fruits balanced by grainy clay and limestone earth. Long, with good grip, this is an excellent value and a wonderful example of red Burgundy.

Patricia Green Cellars "Reserve" Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2017

Deeply colored and deeply concentrated, this is tasty from the moment the cork is popped, and - as is typical with Patricia Green Pinots - the more it breathes, the better it gets!
93 Wine Spectator
(6/15/2019) "Expressive and polished, with unfolding layers of blueberry, raspberry, green tea and orange peel, taking on complexity toward well-manicured tannins. Drink now through 2026."

Guado al Tasso "Il Bruciato" Bolgheri Rosso 2016

93+ Wine Advocate
(9/6/2018) "This is absolutely one of the best value wines you will find in Italy and I suspect beyond. The 2016 Bolgheri Rosso Il Bruciato is a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 15% Syrah. With more than one million bottles made, there should be no problem finding it at your nearest wine merchant. Once you do locate it, I enthusiastically recommend that you pick up a few cases. This vintage comes together with seamless intensity and smoothness. You get so much dark fruit flavor, paired with soft tannins, spice, smoke and dried blackberry. Il Bruciato pulls off its magic effortlessly. It doesn't try to be anything other than it is: Delicious. Drink Date 2018 - 2023."

Marie-Pierre Manciat "Les Petites Bruyeres" Pouilly-Fuisse 2016

91 Our Score
90+ Wine Advocate
(8/31/2017) "The 2016 Pouilly Fuisse les Petites Bruyeres has quite a punchy, enticing bouquet with Golden Delicious, orange pith and slight waxy scents, though I would have liked to see a little more delineation here. The palate is fresh and vibrant with Clementine, white pepper and a tang of ginger that becomes quite pronounced with continued aeration. Give this a year or two in bottle as it has something up its sleeve. Drink Date 2019 - 2026."

Vinedos Ponce "P.F." Manchuela Bobal 2017

94 Wine Advocate
(4/30/2019) "The 2017 P.F., which is the acronym for Pie Franco (ungrafted), is pure Bobal from old, ungrafted vines from a low-yielding vintage. The vines are over 90 years of age and are planted at 900 meters in altitude on granite soils. This fermented with full clusters and indigenous yeasts in open-top 4,500-liter oak vats and matured in 600-liter French oak barrels for ten months. This is the wine that shows more complexity and depth, showing the pure character of Bobal on deep sandy soils at high altitude, surrounded by aromatic herbs. The tannins feel quite polished, certainly less rustic than in earlier vintages. This is a mineral, powerful and spicy wine with a mixture of rusticity and complexity, darker than La Estrecha. 8,500 bottles were filled in July 2018. Drink Date 2019 - 2026."

Matanzas Creek Alexander Valley Chardonnay 2017

90 Our Score
(7/2019) Since Matanzas Creek was acquired by Jackson Family Estates a few years ago, quality has soared. This 2017 Chardonnay, sourced from vineyards entirely within Sonoma's Alexander Valley appellation, is especially yummy. Raised in 100% French oak, 25% of which was new, this Chardonnay tastes of baked pear, peach, pineapple, white flowers and subtle notes of butterscotch and spicy oak. Creamy and balanced with a fresh and long finish. Well done!
