Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe "La Crau" Chateauneuf-du-Pape Blanc 2016

(10/2017) "Slightly fresher than the La Roquete release (I always taste this cuvee after the la Roquete which is also made by the Brunier family), the 2016 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc gives up lots of lemon and grapefruit characteristics as well as a terrific, salty minerality that makes you salivate. Medium to full-bodied, tight, fresh and clean, it needs 2-3 years of bottle age and will singe for 2 decades or more. As with the 2015, it's a candidate for the finest white made at this estate."

Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe "La Crau" Chateauneuf-du-Pape Rouge 2015

(1/2018) "A wine with playful, attractive character. An array of red, blue and purple fruits. Gently spicy, chalky and fragrant, it has a very supple, fleshy and layered palate with a web of fine, smooth and supple tannins. Extremely elegant and composed. A long draw on the finish. Great depth and drive. This will live super long. Try after 2020."

Roger Sabon "Reserve" Chateauneuf du Pape Rouge 2016

(8/31/2018) "Full-bodied and velvety, Sabon's 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape Reserve is a step up from the les Olivets bottling and probably represents the best value in the 2016 lineup. Tasted blind, it showcases ripe dark plum and cola but also super ripe Grenache notes of apricot and delicate hints of garrigue, then it turns rich and chewy on the long finish. It's 80% Grenache, 10% Mourvèdre and 10% Syrah, matured in a mix of foudres and oak vats."

Domaine Senechaux Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc 2013

(10/30/2014) "While the reds from this estate are well known, their 2013 Châteauneuf du Pape Blanc is also superb. Made from Clairette, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne and Bourboulenc and brought up in 75% stainless steel and 25% in barrels, it's a full-bodied, ripe, layered and voluptuously textured beauty that offers ample buttered citrus, peach and a distinct, saltiness that comes out with air. It's a smoking white to drink over the coming few years. Drink Date 2014 - 2018."
