La Mascaronne "Fazioli" Cotes de Provence Rouge 2016

91 Our Score
(6/2019) Chateau La Mascaronne produces one of our favorite Provence Roses, and they also make this equally compelling and delicious red. A blend of mostly Syrah with Mourvedre and a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon, this nearly full-bodied wine is deep and concentrated with black cherry, black raspberry, blueberry and blackberry fruit flavors. The minerality and rocky earth tones remind us of Priorat, with a touch of fresh herbs on the lengthy finish adding complexity. This is a very elegant and complex wine that totally over delivers, especially if allowed an hour or so in a decanter to fully open up.

Chateau La Mascaronne "Quat 'saisons" Cotes de Provence Rose 2017

90 Wine Advocate
90 Our Score
(6/2018) This beautiful blend of Cinsault and Carignan from certified organic estate vineyards in the Cotes de Provence region is one of our favorites. With a beautiful pale pink hue and crisp, bright flavors, the 2017 Chateau La Mascaronne "Quat 'saisons" Rose jumps to your attention with aromas of peach, citrus peel and rose petal. On the palate, the red berry fruits come forward followed by complexities of white peach and fresh thyme. Richly textured, the wine is clean with a lingering burst of minerality and fresh acidity that is a hallmark of great Provencal Rose.

La Mascaronne "Quat 'Saisons" Cotes de Provence Rose 2018

91 Wine Advocate
(4/30/2019) "This organic producer clearly merits more attention. The 2018 Cotes de Provence Rose Quat'Saisons offers up hints of wet stone, fresh herbs and citrus on the nose, then adds red currant, cranberry and cherry on the light to medium-bodied palate. It unfolds nicely, yielding pleasant notes of white chocolate on the long, harmonious finish."

Caves d'Esclans "Whispering Angel" Cotes de Provence Rose 2018

92 James Suckling
(5/7/2019) "This is the real McCoy for this price point. The freshness here is undeniable, as it exudes citrus, rose petals, nectarines, sliced dill and coriander and the signature strawberries and cream. Flavorful and intense on the medium- to full-bodied palate yet so very restrained and elegant. Super-value wine as always. Drink now."

Domaine de Tamary Cotes de Provence Rose 2018

91+ Our Score
(5/2019) Domaine de Tamary is a partnership between the boutique Bordeaux negociant Salin and famed Margaux producer Chateau Malescot St. Exupery. The wines are made by the team at Malescot. One of the more impressive roses we've tried this year, Tamary comes exclusively from estate-owned and farmed fruit, blending 45% Grenache with the rest Cinsault, Syrah and the white grape Rolle, aka Vermentino. It is insanely delicious, with a densely packed mouth presence of fresh red fruit flavors, hints of mint and lavender and a long, tart finish. At $15.99, it is a steal, and comparable to many $20+ roses with fancy bottles. Great pink wine here!
