Chateau Pesquie "Cuvee Ascensio" Ventoux Rouge 2015

95+ Jeb Dunnuck
(10/19/2017) "Another new cuvee from this family estate is the 2015 Ventoux Cuvee Ascensio which is mostly Grenache brought up in concrete tanks. This inky colored beauty is a tour de force from the Ventoux and offers smoking good notes of blackberries, currants, smoked earth, lavender, and pepper. Deep, full-bodied and opulent, give bottles 2-4 years of cellaring and enjoy through 2028."

Saint Jean Barroux "La Pierre Noire" Ventoux 2014

95 Jeb Dunnuck
(2/21/2018) "A total gem in the vintage, the 2014 La Pierre Noire is an insanely good wine made from 80/20 Grenache and Syrah that spent three years in concrete tanks. Black raspberries, kirsch, pepper, garrigue and liquid flowers notes all soar from the glass of this incredibly elegant, seamless, silky red that does everything right. With medium to full-bodied richness, ultra-fine tannin, no hard edges and a seamless texture, it's at the top of the heap in 2014. Don't miss a chance to try this beauty! Maturity: 2018 - 2030."

Awarding 92 points, Jeb Dunnuck calls it "smoking good" and recommends buying by the case. This month, we've got it in 1.5-liter bottles for just $25.99. Lots of big bottle fun for a rockin' price!
92 Wine Advocate
(12/30/2016) "A smoking good 2015 that readers should snatch up is the 2015 Cotes du Ventoux Cuvee des Terrasses, which is 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah that's aged in a combination of two- to four-year-old barrels and foudres. Medium to full-bodied, polished, silky and with no hard edges, it has classic Southern Rhone notes of Provencal spices, garrigue, licorice and ripe black raspberries. Buy a case and drink bottles over the coming 5-6 years."

Saint Jean Barroux "La Source" Ventoux 2015

93 Jeb Dunnuck
(2/21/2018) "The 2015 La Source from the talented Philippe Gimel checks in as a blend of 70% Grenache, 25% Carignan, and 5% Cinsault that spent 18 months in tank. Its deep ruby/purple color is followed by a gorgeous bouquet of black cherry, blackberries, pepper, gravely minerality and spice. This gives way to a medium to full-bodied, layered red from the Ventoux that has loads of charm and character. It's a steal at the price! Maturity: 2018 - 2026."

Domaine de Fenouillet Ventoux Rouge 2016

91 Our Score
(6/2018) Sourced from 30-year-old, organically farmed Grenache, Syrah and Carignan vines at the base of Mount Ventoux, the 2016 Fenouillet Rouge absolutely crushes it. Youthful, pure red fruit flavors of raspberry and strawberry make a powerful impact, with earthy tension, brightness and subtle tannins providing a structure more typically found in wines priced $20 or more. This Neal Rosenthal import is a delicious and complete bottle of wine and the value here is stunning.

Chateau Pesquie "Edition 1912M" Ventoux Rouge 2016

93 Jeb Dunnuck
(10/2017) "A new cuvee that's from higher elevation vineyards, the 2016 Ventoux Edition 1912M is made from 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah that I suspect was brought up all in tank. It's a ripe, sexy, yet concentrated wine that offers lots of black cherries, violets, lavender, raspberry and mineral-driven aromatics. Clean, medium to full-bodied, and with rock-solid mid-palate depth, it's going to drink beautifully for upwards of a decade, although there's absolutely no need to delay gratification."

Chateau Juvenal "Les Ribes du Vallat" Ventoux Rouge 2016

The price-to-deliciousness ratio on this Philipe Cambie-produced, certified-organic gem is astounding!
93 Jeb Dunnuck
(10/2017) "Even better and one of the best values I've seen in a long time, the 2016 Ventoux Les Ribes du Vallat checks in as a blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah brought up all in stainless steel. It offers a huge nose of garrigue, saddle leather, rare meat and loads of blackcurrant fruit. With full-bodied richness, a ripe, decadent, opulent profile and no hard edges, it's a no-brainer purchase and ideal for drinking over the coming 2-4 years."

Domaine de Fondreche Ventoux Rouge 2013

89 Our Score
88 Vinous, Josh Raynolds
(6/2016) "Dark purple. Ripe cherry and cassis aromas are complicated by suggestions of cracked pepper and licorice. Spicy black and blue fruit and floral pastille flavors open up with air and show good depth and clarity. The spicy quality carries through the finish, which features supple tannins and a whisper of allspice. Drink 2017 - 2021."
