Roserock "Zephirine" Eola-Amity Hills Pinot Noir 2015

98 James Suckling
(11/1/2017) "Incredible aromas of chamomile, hibiscus, fruit tea, lavender, dried strawberries, cherries, lemons and light white chocolate. Medium-bodied but with crazily formed tannins that are like velvety strings and are surrounded by vivacious acidity. A phenomenal, awe-inspiring finish. An indisputably unique wine. Drink from 2020."

Martin Woods "Jessie James Vineyard" Eola-Amity Hills Pinot Noir 2016

91 Our Score
(3/2019) This single-site Pinot Noir comes from the Jessie James Vineyard, which is situated high up in the Eola-Amity Hills on old volcanic soils. This is superbly elegant with bright red fruits and crunchy forest floor that melt into the seamless tannins. Martin is all about embracing Oregon terroir, coaxing the most he can out of it, providing a true sense of place. He even goes so far as to age this wine in local Oregon oak barrels. Totally wonderful now, it will only continue to get better with time in the bottle.

(8/1/2018) "Editors' Choice - Domaine Drouhin Oregon's new Eola-Amity wine continues to impress. Supple, seductive and rippled with kiwi, apple, citrus and melon flavors, it's nicely ripe and well melded. The barrel influence is modest, which perfectly suits fruit this good."

Martin Woods Eola-Amity Hills Chardonnay 2017

91 Our Score
(3/2019) There is a temptation to call this "Burgundian" but it is more accurate to call it "Oregonian." This producer wants everything that goes into the wine to be from Oregon, and that includes aging the wine in neutral Oregon oak barrels. This is a lean style of Chardonnay with great depth of flavors. The fruit is a refreshing mix of fresh slices apples and pears sprinkled with lemon zest. Underneath lies complex flavors of rich mineral and subtle oak spice. Fans of both Burgundy and California should check this one out to see what Oregon Chardonnay is capable of!

Evening Land "Celebration" Seven Springs Vineyard Gamay Noir 2013

Awesome closeout! A lot of folks, including Sashi Moorman believe that there Gamay may well be better suited for the Willamette than Pinot Noir, so while this is a pioneering effort, there is a bright tomorrow. Sourced from the famous, biodynamically farmed Seven Springs vineyard, the average online price for newer vintages of this wine is $35. For half that price, taste the future and put this on your Thanksgiving table, chill it when the weather is warm, and compare it to your favorite Cru Beaujolais!
