(8/1/2018) "Editors' Choice - Domaine Drouhin Oregon's new Eola-Amity wine continues to impress. Supple, seductive and rippled with kiwi, apple, citrus and melon flavors, it's nicely ripe and well melded. The barrel influence is modest, which perfectly suits fruit this good."

Martin Woods Eola-Amity Hills Chardonnay 2017

91 Our Score
(3/2019) There is a temptation to call this "Burgundian" but it is more accurate to call it "Oregonian." This producer wants everything that goes into the wine to be from Oregon, and that includes aging the wine in neutral Oregon oak barrels. This is a lean style of Chardonnay with great depth of flavors. The fruit is a refreshing mix of fresh slices apples and pears sprinkled with lemon zest. Underneath lies complex flavors of rich mineral and subtle oak spice. Fans of both Burgundy and California should check this one out to see what Oregon Chardonnay is capable of!

(10/2017) "This hits the palate with full force-a stylish effort that coats the tongue with lush stone fruit flavors, elevated with citrus-tinged acidity. A light touch of barrel toast frames the lovely fruit. Drink now through the mid-2020s."
