Domaine Antoine Jobard Meursault 2015

Always one of the last Meursault to come to market due to extensive cellaring (20 - 23 months in barrel), the anticipation for this is has us bubbling like an active fermentation! While wines like Domaine Roulot's have become impossibly expensive and scarcely available - Antonie's star is rising as he leads this family estate that has been imported by Kermit Lynch since the 1970's. A warm vintage should allow an extra-level of opulence that Meursault fans. Drink or hold, but buy today before this too reaches a level of unobtainability.

Domaine Francois Mikulski Meursault 2014

94 Our Score
(4/2018) This incredibly beautiful, intense and complex Meursault comes from about half a dozen parcels that cover roughly 1.5 hectares. The vines, on average 35 years old, are farmed using organic practices and only yield about 750 cases of wine annually. Ripe apple and pear flavors blend beautifully with citrus and mineral notes. Already delicious to drink now, the wine will certainly get better over the next 3 to 7 years. Enjoy this with butter poached lobster, roasted chicken with cream sauce and morel mushrooms, or any other rich and heavenly fish or poultry dish you can dream up.

Domaine Jehan Emonin Meursault 2016

93+ Our Score
(11/2018) This serious bottle of white Burgundy can hang with the best. Vincent Bouzereau produces this Meursault from 15 parcels, some of which are 1er Cru status. As with all his wines, there are no added enzymes or cultured yeasts and there is no warming of the cellar to induce malolactic fermentation. The wine was fermented in barrel and aged in 25% new oak. While there are hints of sweet vanilla and light toast, it is the mineral intensity that dominates. After time, flavors of crunchy lime and red apple come through, adding complexity and impressive length to this taut and youthful wine. The lively structure will allow this to drink well through 2025 and maybe beyond.

Pierre Morey Bourgogne Aligote 2014

We flipped for this biodyanmically farmed Wasserman selection and took everything we could from our importer, at very special pricing!
89+ Our Score
(05/2019) Not all Aligote are created equal. From a 1.86ha parcel of 50 year old vines in Meursault, comes this commendably complex, age-worthy example. Aligote's lights-out acidity is one of the leading factors in making substantial, old vine examples like this so underrated and capable of lasting in the cellar. Intriguing aromatics convey a "natural" origin, with notes of tangy lemon, apple blossom, chalk and talc. The finish is strikingly bright, incisive and long. This is a piercing food wine, and though it has Meursault terroir, it does not have the fleshiness or showy oak that Chardonnay from the district oft-features. If you've enjoyed higher-level Aligote from Mikulski or Jobard - try this one too at our tremendous pricing. Bring out the fish and chips and mix it into your rotation of Chablis and Muscadet. Go-Go-Aligote!
