Clos i Terrasses "Clos Erasmus" Priorat 2015

99 Wine Advocate
100 Jeb Dunnuck
(2/21/2018) "The 2015 Clos Erasmus has a similar level of purity to the 2013, yet is a riper, sexier wine that has an incredible voluptuousness and depth on the palate that's hard to believe. Kirsch, blackberries, cassis, graphite, liquid rock, dusty earth, and violet characteristics all emerge from this sensational, full-bodied, expansive Priorat that has sweet tannin and a huge finish. While it's a very different wine than the 2013, it's just as perfect. The 2015 is 75% Garnacha and 25% Syrah, aged 20 months in 40% new French Taransaud barrels, with 5% in clay amphorae. There are roughly 250 cases produced and it's a heavenly, singular wine to drink over the coming 15-20+ years. Hats off to winemaker Daphne Glorian!"

Familia Nin-Ortiz "Nit de Nin" Priorat 2015

97 Wine Advocate
(4/27/2018) "The Nit de Nin family has grown with the addition of a new vineyard. The wine produced since 2003 comes from Mas d'en Cacador-this was always named on the label, but it is now also specified in the wine name to distinguish between the new vineyard. The 2015 Nit de Nin Mas d'en Cacador comes from the vineyard mentioned in the name, a famous place in Porrera planted with old vines of Garnacha Negra, Garnacha Peluda and Carinena. It fermented in an oak vat with indigenous yeasts and matured in a similar vat for 18 months. It's heady and ripe, exuberant and very open, a hedonistic, round and lush wine. The palate reveals very fine tannins and great harmony. Drink Date 2018 - 2025."

Mas Doix "Salanques" Priorat 2015

92+ Wine Advocate
92 Wine Spectator
93 Jeb Dunnuck
(2/21/2018) "A blend of 65% Garnacha, 25% Cariñena and 10% Syrah, the 2015 Salanques comes from a steep, three-hectare vineyard located near the village of Poboleda. This deep ruby/purple colored beauty offers a stunning bouquet of blueberries, raspberries, violets, and hints of resinous herbs and flowers. Medium to full-bodied, with a light, graceful, elegant texture that just glides across the palate, It's not huge, but has plenty of intensity and length. Maturity: 2018 - 2028."

Mas d'En Compte "Black Slate" Porrera Priorat 2016

94 Jeb Dunnuck
(4/3/2019) "The 2016 Black Slate Porrera comes from a project of importer Eric Solomon focusing on the specific villages in the Priorat. The 2016 is 60% Grenache and 40% Carignan that was mostly destemmed and spent a full year in used barrels. Thrilling blue fruits, tar, rose petals, and a smoky, marine, iodine-like character all emerge from this full-bodied effort that opens up nicely with time in the glass. Tasting like it cost three times the price, it picks up more minerality with time in the glass, has beautiful balance, and great purity of fruit. It would be hard to find a better value. Drink bottles over the coming 3-5 years."

Conreria d'Scala Dei "Black Slate" Escaladei Priorat 2016

The latest gem from Eric Solomon's "Black Slate" series of single-village Priorat!
95 Jeb Dunnuck
(2/21/2018) "One of the gems in the Black Slate lineup is the 2016 Black Slate Escaladei which is 90% Garnacha, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Carinena, all of which spent 18 months in foudre and barrels. It offers an incredibly perfumed style as well as more red fruits, white flowers, kirsch, and beautiful minerality. With medium to full-bodied richness, a light, silky texture, and sweet tannin, it pretty much maxes out the QPR scale and is a gorgeous wine. 900 cases. Maturity: 2018 - 2023."

Mas d'En Compte "Black Slate" Porrera Priorat 2015

93 Jeb Dunnuck
(2/21/2018) "Made from very old vine Carinena and Garnacha, the 2015 Black Slate Porrera is part of the "Vi de la Vila" (village appellation) series from the Priorat that was created by Eric Solomon. Coming from the easternmost village of the region, and one which enjoys cooler temperatures due to its high altitude and canyon-like topography, it has beautiful complexity in its ripe red and black fruits, dried flowers, dried earth and mineral aromas and flavors. Possessing medium to full-bodied richness, a layered, ripe, yet fresh profile, and a great finish, it's a screaming deal. Drink it over the coming 4-6 years. The wine is made by Joan Sangenis of Mas d'en Compte, whose family are the largest vineyard owners in Porrera and who have been wine growers for generations. Maturity 2018 - 2024."

Pasanau "Ceps Nous" Priorat 2014

New low price! Regular Vin Chicago retail - $15.99!
90 Wine Advocate
(10/2016) "The peppery and fresh 2014 Ceps Nous is a blend of 70% Garnacha, 21% Merlot and 9% Syrah from young vines produced in a fresh and fruit-driven style. It fermented in stainless steel and matured in used French oak barrels for some four to six months. It's 15.4% alcohol but quite juicy and balanced, and the alcohol is not noticeable, although it's clearly not a shy wine. Very good in its style. There are 25,000 bottles produced, of which half were bottled in May 2016."
