Kendall Jackson "Grand Reserve" Santa Barbara County Chardonnay 2017

89 Wine Spectator
89 Wine Advocate
(2/28/2019) "Aged eight months in 26% new French oak, the 2017 Chardonnay Grand Reserve gives up very compelling grapefruit and ripe peach notes with hints of allspice and honey toast. Medium to full-bodied, the palate features a satiny texture with loads of spicy stone fruit and a lively citrusy lift on the finish."

Nielson Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir 2016

88 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
89 Jeb Dunnuck
(10/15/2018) "The value-priced 2016 Pinot Noir Santa Barbara County sports a medium ruby color as well as a pretty perfume of ripe red cherries, underbrush and spice. It's medium-bodied, has remarkable typicity at this price point, is elegant, and nicely balanced. It's a steal and will dish out loads of pleasure over the coming 2-4 years."

Nielson Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir 2014

89+ Our Score
(1/2018) Byron's Nielson Pinot Noir is named after Uriel Nielson, a pioneer who planted Pinot Noir in Santa Barbara 50 years ago. Uriel definitely knew what he was doing as the Pinot Noir coming out of Santa Barbara as of late has been outstanding, giving more well-known regions like Sonoma Coast and Willamette Valley a run for their money! This 2014 bottling showcases the beautiful ripe fruit flavors that come from the warm climate and extended hang time for which this region is known. Cherries, raspberry and pomegranate are met with complementary notes of red flower petals and baking spice. A bright and lively palate balances out the ripe fruit and makes for a lip smackingly delicious wine that will pair perfectly with anything from BBQ ribs, crispy pig ears, and pork chops to bacon and eggs.
