Jaffurs "Thompson Vineyard" Santa Barbara County Petite Sirah 2016

93 Wine Advocate
(4/27/2018) "No one could mistake the 2016 Petite Sirah Thompson Vineyard from Jaffurs for anything but a Petite Sirah, but it's also remarkably elegant, wafting from the glass with aromas of plum preserve, tar, inky black fruits and licorice. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and velvety, with good concentration and sappy fruit, deep and richly tannic without ever becoming overbearing."

Tyler Santa Barbara County Chardonnay 2016

A previous vintage of this wine was named to Antonio Galloni's "10 Wines That Changed My Life" list. Medium-full in body, the 2016 Tyler tastes of ripe apple, guava and fresh citrus with a hint of mineral, tangy richness and creamy butterscotch. The future of California Chardonnay!

90 Wine Advocate
(4/27/2018) "The 2016 Chardonnay is lovely, wafting from the glass with aromas of honeyed citrus, white flowers and struck match. On the palate, it's elegantly glossy, medium-bodied and pure, with lovely cut and a chalky, mouthwatering finish. It's still showing a touch of sulfur dioxide after bottling, so if you plan on drinking this Chardonnay in the near future I'd recommend giving it a short decant. Drink Date 2018 - 2024."

A Tribute to Grace Santa Barbara County Grenache 2016

91 Our Score
91 Wine Enthusiast
(6/1/2018) "This is the most affordable and easiest-to-find take on Angela Osborne's uniquely light style of Grenache. Cranberry, hibiscus and crushed gravel show on the nose, while the palate carries her typically lively texture, persistent acidity and fresh flavors of pressed raspberries."

Beckmen Vineyards "Purisima Mountain Vineyard" Ballard Canyon Syrah 2016

This gorgeous Ballard Canyon red is simply dripping with pure, rich fruit. A year ago we featured it for $24.79 and loved it at that price. We just reloaded and offer it now for several bucks less!

The 2016 Syrah Purisima Mountain is a blend of 97% Syrah and 3% Viognier that was aged 16 months in 40% new French oak. Deep ruby/purple-colored, with attractive notes of black fruits, smoked herbs, bacon fat, and pepper, it's medium to full-bodied, ripe and polished, with tons of fruit as well as underlying structured and depth. It's a smoking Syrah as well as a great value.

Land of Saints Santa Barbara County Chardonnay 2016

90 Our Score
(10/2018) New to the Land of Saints line up is this beautifully crafted Chardonnay sourced entirely from the Sta. Rita Hills AVA. This is some rather serious juice going into here and we were thoroughly impressed. Aged in 30% new French barriques there is a perfectly balanced textural tone through the wine, with plenty of mineral cut to back it up. We are excited to see what Angela Osborne does next with this great value-driven line.

Tenshen Santa Barbara County Red Blend 2016

91 Wine Enthusiast
90+ Our Score
(6/2018) If you were to look up "American Red Blend" in the dictionary, you might find a picture of Tenshen. This wine perfectly encapsulates our idea of that term. Blending Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre, Petite Sirah & Merlot, this fruit-focused Santa Barbara red is all about sheer power and fruit concentration. It also happens to be delicious and fun. We've heard that this 2016 bottling might be the last Tenshen vintage made by superstar winemaker Joey Tensley. If that's true, we're sure owner Alex Guarachi will put someone very skilled in charge going forward and hope they'll be able to fill Joey's rather large shoes! In the meantime, enjoy the black fruits, cocoa and subtle fresh turned earth tones of this wonderful California red.

Stolpman Vineyards "Para Maria" Santa Barbara County Red Blend 2016

93 Wine Enthusiast
(12/31/2017) "This Syrah, which is enhanced by 15% Petit Verdot, is one of the better wines from the region on the market for less than $25. Awesome aromas of pepper, blackberry and charred beef are intense and deep, while the palate is lifted by bountiful acidity and flavors of boysenberry, white, black and green peppercorns, incense and sagebrush. Editor's Choice"

Nielson Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir 2016

88 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
89 Jeb Dunnuck
(10/15/2018) "The value-priced 2016 Pinot Noir Santa Barbara County sports a medium ruby color as well as a pretty perfume of ripe red cherries, underbrush and spice. It's medium-bodied, has remarkable typicity at this price point, is elegant, and nicely balanced. It's a steal and will dish out loads of pleasure over the coming 2-4 years."
