(10/17/2019) "From the Meddersheimer Rheingrafenberg, the single-vineyard 2018 Riesling "Quarzit" offers a very precise if not sharp and mineral bouquet of quartzite. This is another remarkable terroir Riesling from Harald Hexamer. Clear, bright and with typical notes of crushed (flint) stones and perfectly healthy Riesling berries from a cool climate, this is a slightly sweet but lush and piquant, linear and straightforward Riesling with a tight and firm finish that balances the light sweetness quite well. This is an intense and lush, even full-bodied Riesling bottled with 11.5% alcohol and lingering salinity and crystalline mineral tension. Excellent grip and aging potential. Tasted from AP 06 19 in August 2019. Drink Date: 2020 - 2040."
