Eidos de Padrinan Rias Baixas Albarino 2017

90 Our Score
(8/2018) Adega Eidos is a small production winery that makes only three wines, all from the Albarino grape. Their attention to detail and craftsmanship really comes through in this entry-level offering. Complex yet clean, the tropical and citrus fruit flavors will delight your palate and the salinity and fresh finish will bring you back for more. Try with a chilled shellfish platter, oysters or a seafood stew. Delicious!

Pazo Senorans Rias Baixas Albarino 2017

91 Our Score
92 James Suckling
(8/2/2018) "The complex white-peach, gooseberry and floral nose is very enticing and just beginning to open up. Rich, yet sleek and elegant with spot-on balance of fruit, creaminess from yeast contact and lemon-lime acidity. Where is that pan-fried fish! Drink now or hold."

Morgadio Rias Baixas Albarino 2017

91 Vinous, Josh Raynolds
90 Our Score
(9/2018) The historic estate of Morgadio helped put the Albarino grape in the spotlight after their vineyards were used for experimentation that assisted in the creation of the Rias Baixas appellation in the early 1980s. If you're curious what a classic example of Albarino tastes like, this is it. During the winemaking process, the juice is macerated on the lees for two months, adding a rich and round texture that is characteristic of the region. That richness is balanced out by fresh acidity, deliciously pure fruit flavors of pear, peach and citrus zest, and a long, mineral-driven finish. Grab a chilled seafood platter and go to town!

Lagar de Cervera Rias Baixas Albarino 2018

A zesty, incisive Albariño from the owners of La Rioja Alta!
92 James Suckling
(7/26/2019) "So many flowers here, including honeysuckle, daffodils, almonds and cherry blossom. The palate has a really expansive, fleshy feel for this variety, without the addition of oak, but the acidity is still forthright and still right on point. Drink now."

Bodegas La Cana Rias Baixas Albarino 2017

91 Wine Spectator
91 Vinous, Josh Raynolds
(3/2019) "Light, green-tinged yellow. High-pitched aromas of fresh citrus and orchard fruits, jasmine and dusty minerals, along with a hint of tarragon. Tightly wound Meyer lemon and quince flavors show very good depth and flesh out steadily on the back half. Deftly blends power and finesse and finishes with solid grip and impressively persistent citrus fruit and floral qualities. (65% stainless steel and 35% large French oak casks.)"
