(6/28/2019) "The 2016 Crianza is pure Tempranillo from a year they consider spectacular because of the health and ripeness that the grapes achieved very slowly. The destemmed grapes fermented in stainless steel, and the wine matured in French and American oak barrels for 14 months. It is still quite toasty and has a classical profile despite the new-ish oak, a little creamy, with that soft, voluptuous mouthfeel but with the fresh profile of the 2016 vintage, with red rather than black fruit. It's a year of good yields, and the fruit and the wines have very good balance and freshness, less concentrated and more drinkable. It's a year of balance and freshness, with good yields and healthy grapes. It has to be one of the finest vintages for this wine. 150,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in March 2019. Drink Date: 2019 - 2023."

Expressive aromas of ripe, dark berries, incense, potpourri, toasty oak and cola. Lush, fleshy and alluringly sweet, offering palate-coating, oak-spices black and blue fruit and floral pastille flavors that show very good depth. Smooth and lively on the finish, where sneaky tannins shape the lingering dark fruit and spice notes. Drinking window: 2020 - 2027."

91/100 - Wine Advocate (10/30/2020) "I have loved the nose of the young Graciano since I smelled the first vintage, and the 2019 Lagrimas de Bhilar Graciano, which has changed the name slightly, is no exception. It's floral and perfumed, showy and peppery. Furthermore, I think Graciano ripened nicely in 2019, and this is really very good. With ripe fruit and a soft palate, this is a young red designed to be drunk early, after spending six months in concrete where it fermented with natural yeasts. Delicious. 10,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in July 2020."

(2/28/2018) "Jorge Muga told me he's very proud of their 2013 Reserva, which he considers the most challenging vintage he's seen: cold, rain, botrytis, vigor, mud ... horrible! They only produced this Reserva, there's no Seleccion Especial, Torre Muga or Prado Enea, and they even produced less than the average volume of this bottling. This is the year they introduced optical sorting for the grapes, and they reckon that really helped to achieve the quality of this wine. In this price range and volume, it has to be one of the best wines in Rioja in 2013. It has the classical Muga character, polished and drinkable."
