Poderi Aldo Conterno "Conca Tre Pile" Barbara d'Alba 2015

92+ Our Score
(12/2018) This single-site Barbera comes from the Conca Tre Pile, a hilly area located in the famous Barolo cru of Bussia-Soprana in Monforte d'Alba. The grapes are hand harvested from 45-year-old vines, vinified in stainless steel tanks and matured in French barrique for one year. The result is a full-bodied and full-flavored Barbera that is round and lively with excellent balance and a long finish. Dark red fruits are beautifully complemented by oak-driven baking spice and vanilla bean. Treat yourself to this classic Barbera from Aldo Conterno, one of Piedmont's greatest producers!

90+ Our Score
88 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(6/2018) "The 2015 Barbera d'Alba offers good up-front immediacy in a bold, fruit-driven style that is best enjoyed upon release. The plump, juicy personality of the year is very much on display. Drinking Window: 2017 - 2021."

Matteo Correggia Barbera d'Alba 2015

90 Our Score
(11/2018) Correggia consistently bottles high quality Piedmont reds, including this tasty 2015 Barbera. An "old school" DeGrazia import, the Correggia wines are not flashy or overdone, but authentic - and are especially wonderful when served with food. Look for fresh and tangy red fruits with subtle earth and red floral nuances along with lively acidity and medium tannin. Nuanced enough to be versatile with everything from tacos to braised lamb to pepperoni pizza!
