Bodegas Breca Vino de Espana Rose 2018

88 Our Score
90 Wine Spectator
(6/15/2019) "This deceptively pale-colored rose is quite rich, aromatic and dense. Berry, watermelon, spice and vanilla flavors mingle in a plush texture, with just enough acidity to stay focused. Drink now."

Le Paradou Grenache 2016

90 Wine Advocate
(4/28/2017) "The Le Paradou label is a joint venture between the Ventoux's Chateau Pesquie Chaudiere family and importer Eric Solomon. The 2016 Vin de France, which has already been bottled, is 100% Grenache and comes from vines in the Ventoux and the Roussillon's Agly Valley. It was brought up all in concrete tank. Deep ruby colored, with awesome notes of garrigue, pepper, kirsch and dark fruits, this beauty hits the palate with medium to fullbodied richness, no hard edges and a great finish. It sells for a song and way over-delivers."

Bodegas Borsao "Tres Picos" Campo de Borja Garnacha 2015

"My favorite value winery not only in Spain, but in the world, is Bodegas Borsao..." - Robert Parker, August 2016.
92 Vinous, Josh Raynolds
91 Wine Advocate
(8/30/2016) "Even better, and clearly one of the greatest values in the wine world, is the 2015 Tres Picos. It is a large cuvée of 24,000 cases from 100% Grenache, fermented in both oak and steel and aged in French oak prior to being bottled. The vines come from a relatively high elevation of nearly 2,300 feet from a vineyard planted in 1956. This wine shows loads of classic Grenache characteristics, such as pepper, licorice, underbrush, Provençal herbs and a boatload of black cherries and raspberries. The wine is rich, medium to full-bodied, pure and luscious and hedonistic. Drink it over the next several years. Drink Date: 2016 - 2019."

Yalumba "Old Bush Vine" Barossa Valley Grenache 2016

90+ Our Score
93 Wine & Spirits
(2/2018) "The Old Bush Vine range from Yalumba consistently turns out some of the greatest values from Australia, this latest grenache being one of them. It's clean and bright; one taster described the taste as "the perfect parallel to the flavor of raspberries." The structure is about floral delicacy rather than tannic power, a wine light enough to serve chilled. And it brings a range of different foods to mind as accompaniments, from chicken liver mousse to char-grilled sardines to a burger with tomatoes and pickled red onions."

Mura "Cortes" Cannonau di Sardegna 2017

92 Our Score
(11/2018) Dark, intense and yet undeniably pretty, this wine is a complete package that will keep you young forever, as Cannonau is the lifeblood of one of the original five "Blue Zones" - the Mediterranean isle of Sardinia. There is great muscle and very little fat on its well-structured bones. Blackberry preserves and lively black plum are lifted by floral notes and perfectly balanced acidity. The finish is long, with a rugged dark, earthy minerality. There are a lot of wine regions where this experience would easily cost $40.

A Tribute to Grace Santa Barbara County Grenache Rose 2018

This new release of A Tribute to Grace Rose is like spring in a glass!
92 Our Score
(4/2019) Grenache virtuoso Angela Osborne biodynamically farms a single parcel of Grenache vines in the Santa Barbara Highlands Vineyard that is used exclusively for her annual bottling of Rose. Her passion for Grenache comes through in all of her wines and this fresh release of Rose is a beautiful and expressive example that can easily pass for a top-tier classic from Provence. The wine is vibrant and full of life with a smooth and round texture that caresses the palate. Deep and complex flavors of strawberry, honeydew melon, peach and cherry skin are met with notes of honeysuckle, fresh cut flowers, white pepper and refreshing minerality. This full-bodied effort is best enjoyed today with a plate of grilled Mediterranean-style cuisine, and be sure to stash a few bottles of this gem away for next year's Rosé season because it will age, you know... Grace-fully!

Refugio Road "Vin Caprice Vineyard" Grenache 2016

91 Our Score
(8/2018) "Refugio Road" is back and man is it a stunner! This is a collaboration between Chicago distributor Steve Sullivan of Vinejoy and Angela Osborn, the leading lady behind the "A Tribute to Grace" line. Each year he picks a specific barrel to bottle under the Refugio Road label. It is sourced from a single-vineyard in the middle of nowhere in the Santa Ynez Valley (cell phones don't even work out there) and farmed biodynamically. This is one of Angela's personal vineyards. The palate is dense yet retains a youthful energy. Notes of smoked brisket, blood sausage, burnt oranges, garrigue and a meadow filled with wildflowers. Finishing with melted cranberries on blueberry pie crust. This is a very special bottle of wine.
