Neyers "Evangelho Vineyard" Mourvedre 2016

This wine is often too small of a production-level for most of the wine press to pay attention to. The previous vintage was a mere 90 cases! This pure varietal wine sources from 130-year-old vines planted on the Evangelho vineyard. Vinification is very traditional, all native yeasts and aging in used French oak barrels for 12 months. It's a very Provencal model leading to wine with a slight rustic edge and a mere 13.3% abv. This is not a goopy, jammy kind of wine. Saddle up for treat!

Chateau de la Noblesse Bandol Rouge 2015

90+ Our Score
(8/2019) Château de La Noblesse is a very traditional boutique Provence estate run by 5th generation vigneron Agnes Cade. Their 2015 Bandol Rouge blends 95% Mourvedre with 5% Grenache. It is deliciously classic in style, with big tannins, dark flavors, earth and balancing acidity. This beauty is normally priced around $25. We're blowing it out for nearly 30% less. Considering how expensive Bandol has become, this rustic southern French gem is a real value. Drinkable now through 2025.
