Terlano "Vorberg" Alto Adige Riserva Pinot Bianco 2015

96 Vinous, Ian D'Agata
(12/2018) "Pale straw-gold. Beautiful nose of white stone fruit, lime, lemon verbena, beeswax and minerals; this is an absolutely captivating expression of Pinot Bianco at its best. Then similar flavors on the palate, but richer and riper than usual for this wine, with a long flavorful saline finish that offers repeating floral nuances. Pinot Bianco (Weissburgunder in German) does not get any better than this. Drink 2018 - 2033."

Franz Hirtzberger Smaragd Weissburgunder 2012

93+ Our Score
(8/2016) We first tasted this 2012 Weissburgunder last year at Peter Weygandt's annual tasting in New York and it blew us away. The silky, velvety, incredibly dense texture and mouthfeel alone are worth the price of admission. Ripe pear, peach, apricot, honeycomb, savory green earth, button mushroom and rocky minerality are just a few of the seductive flavors to indulge in. The complexity of flavor and richness of fruit are at a level simply not found except in the world's most exclusive wines. Like Hirtzberger's other bottlings, this Weissburgunder will develop even more complexity in years to come. Several days after opening, our sample showed no sign of slowing down, evidence of its quality and ageability.

(5/1/2014) "Appetizing, flinty notes of woodsmoke mingle with green pear and unite into wonderful concentration on the linear palate. A rounded but toned wine, with some muscle and an almost phenolic grip, this calls out for food and will be a worthy accompaniment for white meats. Wonderful apple-dominated and prolonged finish."

(8/31/2018) "The 2017 Alto Adige Pinot Bianco Tradition is a delightful white wine that is both fun and easy to drink. The bouquet is mild and neutral in personality with subtle stone fruit, apricot and Golden Delicious apple. Its appearance is luminous and bright. Pair this wine with fried shrimp or spicy sushi rolls. This is excellent value. Drink Date 2018 - 2022."

Terlan Alto Adige Pinot Bianco 2016

92 Decanter
(5/2018) "Aged in steel. Terlan's humble Pinot Bianco, aged on its lees for five to seven months, is the co-op's favourite for very longer ageing - the winery has stocks going back to 1955. Loaded with white blossom aromas, white peach and tropical fruits, opulent but wonderfully mineral and fresh on the finish. Drink 2018 - 2066."

Emile Beyer Alsace Pinot Blanc 2017

90+ Our Score
(11/2018) According to Christian Beyer, the 14th generation of his family to work in the region, this 2017 Pinot Blanc is the best they've bottled since 2010. A blend 60% Auxerrois and 40% Pinot Blanc, made exclusively from wild yeasts, it tastes of baked citrus and ripe orchard fruits including lemon, pear and yellow apple. The wine is exceptionally fresh, with wonderful balancing acidity and a long, medium-bodied finish. Delicious by itself, with autumn/winter soups or roast chicken.
