Domaine Ostertag "Zellberg" Alsace Pinot Gris 2014

Lush and lovely biodynamic Pinot Gris from a 0.45 hectare vineyard, imported by Kermit Lynch!
93 James Suckling
94 Wine Enthusiast
(11/1/2016) "The nose hints at a future of concentrated flavors-you sense that this wine will open like a bud in due course. For now the bone-dry palate spells out promises of pear, marzipan and baroque richness. The peel of Bosc pear and green citrus play beautifully off each other. Give this wine time to come into its own and your patience will be rewarded. Drink 2018-2030."

New low price! Regular Vin Chicago retail - $35.99!
91+ Our Score
(3/2019) From 40-year old vines, grown primarily in limestone, this off-dry Pinot Gris gives a delicious range of citrus to stone fruits, a hint of button mushroom and honey, a fleshy mouthfeel and a long, mineral finish. A generous Pinot Gris that begs for spicy Thai chicken dishes!

Eyrie Estate Dundee Hills Pinot Gris 2016

91 Wine Advocate
92 Wine Enthusiast
(10/1/2018) "Eyrie pioneered this variety and continues a half century later to break new ground. It's aromatically complex and elegant, with compelling flavors of waxy apple, grapefruit and star fruit. The wet stone acidity keeps it lively and fresh, but based on the winery's history, this is a Pinot Gris that can age quite well. Drink now to 2030 and perhaps beyond."

(3/2019) From limestone-accented marl soils, this dry Pinot Gris is sourced from Felix Meyer's estate vineyards, including some Grand Cru juice! In a word - Yummy! Deep citrus, with a big mouthfeel and a stone and orchard fruit finish. Lovely.

Domaine Saint Remy "Im Berg" Alsace Pinot Gris 2013

Blowout price on this Demeter certified single-site beauty!
90 Our Score
(7/2018) The Ehrhart family has been cultivating vines in Alsace since the 1700s, and are about as traditional as the come. The grapes for this lovely Pinot Gris come from the lieux-dit of "Im Berg" and they wonderfully showcase the subtle smoky, mineral-rich nuances that can be achieved in Alsace. The fruit is round and fleshy with notes of green apple and apricots. The finish is slightly spicy, acting as the perfect complement to the brisk acidity. The wine is simply lovely and, at our blowout price, it is a steal

WillaKenzie Estate Willamette Valley Pinot Gris 2016

89 Wine Enthusiast
(8/1/2017) "All stainless, no malolactic and widely available distribution make this a pure-blooded warm weather go-to white wine. It's young and still a bit yeasty, aromatic with scents of seeds and grains. Tightly wound fruit flavors of apple and green melon come with good depth and texture."

Walnut City Willamette Valley Pinot Gris 2017

90 Wine Enthusiast
(8/1/2018) "This is Pinot Gris at its youthful best: fresh, creamy, leesy and bursting with zippy grapefruit, orange, apple and melon flavors. Made entirely in stainless steel, it is sufficiently rich and ripe despite the relatively low alcohol. Best Buy." (Oregon)

(2/2019) "Editors' Choice - This is a simply gorgeous bottle that's loaded with fresh and palate-pleasing flavors of cut pear. Lively acidity with a mix of citrus brings extra life and length, and this will show best if decanted for an hour or two prior to drinking." (Oregon)
