Maloof Wines "Thistle" Dundee Hills Pinot Gris 2019
Bee and Ross Maloof refer to themselves as "Two nerds with a penchant for good hospitality and properly fermented pizza dough." An aerospace engineer, Bee appears to be the brains of the operation. Her husband Ross brings a hospitality background. Together, this quirky couple share a passion for wine and are quickly building a name for themselves.

(9/2020) Harvested from two dry-farmed blocks in the Haaken Lenai vineyard in Dundee Hills, this Pinot Gris is then fermented with indigenous yeast and aged on lees for nine months in neutral barrel. Light-medium-bodied with ample, juicy aromas and flavors of Meyer lemon, lime pith, ripe pineapple and white flowers, this is a wine that is well-suited for drinking on its own or perfectly paired with seafood or white pizza.

This bottling gives fresh, salty, orchard and citrus fruit flavors with a pleasant rounded mouthfeel and a balanced finish. Perfect as a cocktail wine, especially on a cool summer Sunday evening.

(9/2020) Very easy to like, this plump, richly weighted Alsatian Pinot Gris is highlighted by loads of spiced yellow apple, mirabelle plum, pear fruit, white florals and ginger. The palate offers notable stony minerality on the finish, properly clean. At our special price, you'll simply call it YUM!

(2/2021) R. Stuart's "Big Fire" Pinot Gris has been a solid bottling since we first tasted it nearly 20 years ago, though we've never been able to feature it at such a crazy low price! Drinking more like Alsace than many other Oregon bottlings, this medium-bodied effort gives pleasing orchard and stone fruit tones, with hints of celery, mushroom and yellow flowers, all atop a very drinkable, rounded frame. Try with chicken pasta dishes or spring soups!
