Domaine du Pas de l'Escalette "Les Clapas" Terrasses du Larzac 2016

92 Our Score
(9/2018) Clapas translates to a "pile of stone" and refers to the rugged land where the vines are planted. The earth-driven flavors of stone and minerality are found deep within this blend of 50% Syrah, 30% Carignan and 20% Grenache. The wine is full-bodied and round with expressive and earth driven notes of stone, mineral, wild game, smoke, leather and spice. The fruit is pure and lush. This is a wine of great depth and length that fans of southern French red blends are going to simply love.

91 Wine Advocate
(4/2016) "Another winner is the 2014 Corbieres Rozeta, which checks in as a blend of 40% Carignan, and 30% each of Grenache and Cinsault. Vibrant, juicy and seamless, with lots of sweet cherry and juicy berry fruits, flowers and some walnut oil-like characteristics, this medium-bodied, beautifully balanced and unique Corbières can be enjoyed anytime over the coming 5-7 years."

Domaine Rimbert "Les Traver de Marceau" St Chinian Red Blend 2015

90 Our Score
(7/2018) Over the last 25 years, Jean-Marie Rimbert has become a leading vigneron of St. Chinian, the oldest wine region of the Languedoc in southwest France. The region's predominantly schist soils and high elevation allow Rimbert to forge this blend from older vines that is both very pure and very expressive. Ripe dark berry and plum flavors, plus herbs and a touch of leather complement an unexpected freshness and impeccable balance. For those weary of the run-of-the-mill Cotes-du-Rhone, the character and value of this red are sure to lift your spirits!

Chateau Saint Roch "Kerbuccio" Maury Sec Rouge 2015

Jeb Dunnuck goes bonkers over this one, and for good reason. Big and plush with bold black cherry flavors and serious concentration, the 2015 Kerbuccio is 20 pounds of viticultural fun in a 10 pound sack!
92 Our Score
94 Jeb Dunnuck
(12/12/2017) "Sporting a deep, inky color, the 2015 Maury Sec Kerbuccio is fabulous stuff, as well as a smoking value. Blackberry jam, roasted herbs, black licorice, tapenade and saddle leather give way to a rich, concentrated, seamless red that has moderate acidity, sweet tannin and a great finish. The blend is 80% Grenache and 20% Carignan, aged in 50% new demi-muids, and as I said when I tasted it from barrel, it's heavenly juice that tastes like it cost three times its price."

Chateau de Paraza "Cuvee Speciale" Minervois 2015

The Wine Advocate fell for this "rocking value" when they tasted it from tank. After recently tasting it from bottle, we think it's drinking every bit as good as they thought it would!
89 Our Score
88-90 Wine Advocate
(4/28/2017) "Tasted as a tank sample, the 2015 Minervois Cuvee Speciale is a step up over the 2014 (which is no dog) and offers deeper, richer notes of black raspberries, currants, crushed flowers and violets. Medium to full-bodied, pure, concentrated and elegant, it certainly has outstanding potential and should be a beautiful wine, and a rocking value."
